Each criminal stood before Aro with a mixture of fear and defiance in their eyes. Aro could sense the tension in the room, the weight of his responsibility pressing down on him. With a deep breath, he addressed the group.

"I am here to carry out justice," he began, his voice steady. "Each of you has been found guilty of crimes that have brought harm to our community. It is now my duty to see that justice is served." Aro spoke with his usual calm demeanor and sinister grin.

As he spoke, Aro couldn't help but notice the varied reactions among the criminals. Some hung their heads in resignation, knowing they had been caught in their wrongdoing. Others glared at him, their anger simmering just beneath the surface.

But one figure caught Aro's attention. A young woman whose eyes held a flicker of something different. It was not fear or defiance that burned in her gaze, but something else entirely. Curiosity.

Aro felt a shiver run down his spine as their eyes locked.

She was a witch.

But not the same species of witch that Y/N was. There were different witches in their realm, or there used to be before Viktor claimed their extinction. Y/N was a green witch from the north. Meanwhile there were various various colors and meanings to each witch's coven and where they originated from.

This witch, the witch Aro sensed in the group of criminals did not have a color. He knew this as the druid tattooed on her wrist was crossed out. Y/N held a similar tattoo on her wrist as well. He noticed everytime he caressed her hands. He noticed the first day they met. However, Y/Ns had a different symbol with Viktors branding next to it. More than likely, this withc was kicked out of her coven and was now considered a lost soul. The way her fingertips were stained black as ink, he knew she been consuming dark magic.

The witch stood before Aro, her eyes gleaming with a mixture of defiance and resignation. The crowd of criminals murmured amongst themselves, some casting fearful glances at the woman while others sneered at her predicament. Aro, the judge known for his unwavering sense of justice, studied her carefully.

"What do you have to say for yourself, witch?" Aro's voice boomed across the trial hall commanding attention.

"I am no ordinary witch, Aro," she began, her voice steady and strong. "I possess powers that could aid this kingdom in ways you cannot even fathom."

Aro arched an eyebrow, intrigued despite himself. The crowd fell silent, sensing the tension in the air. Aro motioned for her to continue.

"If you spare me, I can help protect this land from a darkness that looms on the horizon," the witch proclaimed, her eyes blazing with an otherworldly

"And what would we need help protecting from" Caius spoke in question. Somewhat holding a sarcastic tone.

Following Caius's tone "What do you mean, a darkness?" Aro inquired, his voice barely above a whisper.

The witch's expression remained stoic as she continued, "It is a force unlike anything you have faced before, something ancient and malevolent. It hungers for power and destruction, and it will not rest until the Volturi are no more."

A cold dread settled in the pit of Aro's stomach as he realized the gravity of the situation. The Volturi, once the most feared coven in the vampire world, now faced an imminent threat that even their combined might might not be enough to overcome.

Why would he listen to a criminal? She was a witch. But Aro believed witches. He used to ask for their assistance centuries ago when they used to roam all the lands.

"We already have a witch" Aro spat in the prisoner's direction.

"Yes, yes you do. I have seen her in my visions." The witch continued "I have seen the two of you" she smirked

"What did you see?" Aro asked

"Why are we wasting our time? Make the judgement Aro" Marcus snarled from behind almost interrupting Aro.

"Silence!" Aro spat to Marcus with his attention still on the witch.

"I have seen her powers grow, I have seen what her womb carries, I have seen the execution of your head" She spoke soft to Aro. As if she were a fortune teller.

The words that fell from the witch's mouth and echoed the room made Aro silent.

"This is nonsense, make the judgement so we can go on with our day" Marcus interrupted again. Aro could sense Marcus's patience was running thin.

Suddenly, Aro's voice was calm and collective as he made the final judgement of the prisoners.

"You shall be sentenced by death" she spoke lightly while he clapped his hands together. "The guillotine will be your justice" he continued as the Volturi guards grabbed the prisoner's shared chains and advanced them outside to the courtyard where their fate waited for them.

The prisoners, bound and shackled, stared in horror at the massive weapon guillotine stood before them. The crowd of criminals filled with fear and trepidation.

As they approached the guillotine, the prisoners struggled against their bonds, willing themselves to break free, but their chains held firm. The guard accompanying them laughed cruelly, enjoying the terrified cries of his captives.

Aro stood before them all

Aro stood before them all. Watching as one by one they greeted death as a new friend. Aro's features never changing. The only thing consuming Aro's mind was the words the witch spoke. Her voice echoing each word in his mind.

He was trying to figure out what she meant. What was this darkness she spoke of? Then he started thinking of Y/N. He understood a few aspects of what was said.

That is when he turned with Caius and Marcus following behind. He was heading into the trial room for the next set of criminals. This was going to be a long day, and today needed many executions.
