Within the Volturi walls, an extraordinary meeting was about to transpire. Elrond, the half-elven lord of Rivendell, and his radiant daughter, Arwen, had come bearing a message of peace and understanding.
As the elven entourage approached the Volturi gates, two piercing crimson eyes met their gaze.
With a graceful stride, Elrond and Arwen stepped into the opulent Volturi hall. This being where trials were held. The air was thick with a scent of ancient parchment and the faintest hint of blood. This is where Aro greeted them with his usual warm, yet unreadable smile. Y/N, Caius, Marcus and the rest followed Aro's steps.
"Welcome, Elrond and fair Arwen," said Aro. "We are honored by your presence." Aro gave a slight bow.
Elrond inclined his head in acknowledgment. "Thank you. We have come from afar with a purpose of great importance."
Aro's eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Share your message". That is when Elrond gave a glare in Y/N's direction. "Your words are safe in her presence" Aro added. He understood Elrond was cautious about Y/N being in their discussion.
Elrond cleared his throat. "We have witnessed the growing tension between our peoples, the elves and the vampires. We believe that it is time for a dialogue, a bridge of understanding."Aro narrowed his crimsons. "I have not been informed of there being any tensions"
Elrond then continued his speech. "There have been a few murders of the elven kind. They been left lump, bled dry with pierced throats. Markings matching those of a vampire" Elrond added.
Aro paused thoughtfully. "An intriguing proposal. Yet, the differences between our kind are vast. Did you question the northern covens?"
"True," said Arwen. She is Elronds daughter, she been standing by her father's side while the conversation aspired. Her voice was clear as a forest stream. "But even in our differences, there is a common ground—the desire for peace." Aro nodded in understand. Then she continued "We have not spoken with any northern covens. They will not talk with elves" This was true. The northern covens were not keen about elves. The south where Volturi stands, found common grounds between the elves and vampires.
Aro considered their words carefully. "I will discuss this matter with the Volturi council. I believe we shall have a meeting about what you found" Aro spoke.
"Of course," said Elrond. "We will await""Wonderful, you shall stay in our guest chambers" Aro added as he hand signaled Jane, Felix and Dimitri. "They shall guide you" Aro placed both his hands behind his back.
As the elves took their leave, Y/N turned to Aro. "What are your thoughts? Could it be Viktor?" Y/N's voice almost a panic.
Aro's eyes gleamed with a mixture of skepticism and intrigue. "We must proceed with caution. It could possibly be a southern coven as well. Possibly a passerby." He glanced at her before he began pacing in the grand trial hall. His footsteps creating an echo.
"Marcus!" Aro disruptively shouted. "Yes, Aro" Marcus quickly stepped in front of Y/N. She knew he was doing it on purpose. He been following Aro's orders now. However, he has not been pleasant to be around. Especially since she been by Aro's side in trials."Did we receive word about these claims?" Aro turned his full attention on Marcus. His voice naturally roared through the hall. thus, making Caius, Y/N and Athenodora silent. "I do not believe we have" Marcus spoke lightly. "What was that?" Aro's eyes widened with unease. "I don't believe we have" Marcus cleared his throat. "You don't remember, or you don't believe?" Aro questioned him. He was pushing Marcus.
Suddenly Caius spoke up. "If we received word from Rivendell, I'm sure Marcus would've informed us" Caius was genuinely attempting to cover Marcus's tracks. Not because he was working alongside of him. Rather he genuinely wanted Marcus to do better. "If I wanted your thoughts, Caius. I would've asked you" Aro spoke with a slight growl as he kept his gaze on Marcus.
Suddenly Aro took a few quick steps up to Marcus and leaned forwards. He scented him. "Been dabbling in the blood-wine again?" Aro smirked. "I.. I am sorry, Aro" Marcus began. "Marcus, did we receive word from Rivendell?" Aro asked again. His voice not calm nor roaring. "We did... a couple months ago..." Marcus finally admitted. "There we are" Aro then turned away from Marcus and began pacing again with his hands behind his back. His crimson gaze searching the ground with each stride.
"Aro... I.." Marcus began until he was cut off. Aro took a deep breath and spoke "I want you to get yourself cleaned up for the council meeting" he finally spoke. Marcus kept silent then left the grand trial room.
Y/N thought Aro was being brash. However, she still carried hatred towards Marcus. Not because of who he was personally. But, because he attempted to kill her along with his threats. She knew Aro cared for him like a brother. He was trying to make him a better person.
"Caius!" Aro stopped pacing suddenly. Caius took a step forward. "I need you to notify the council" Aro added. "on my way" Caius smiled as he grabbed Athenodora's hand and pulled her away with him. The only individuals left in the grand wall was Y/N and Aro.
The witch and the vampire.
"Do you need me to help with anything" Y/N began fidgeting with her bandaged wrist. This has become a habit ever since Carlisle bandaged it. She genuinely wanted to help. She felt useless just standing there.
Aro turned his crimsons on Y/N. His eyes suddenly softened to the view of her figure. He swiftly walked over to her and grabbed her hands. He grasped her hands in his. Mostly because it was the only way he could get her to stop fidgeting with her bandage.
"No, my Orchid" he gently lifted her hands and kissed them.
her soft, warm, mortal hands
"I feel like I must be doing something, I can't just stand here and do nothing" she added. Aro met her gaze with his. "You do enough" he stated as he began guiding her across the grand hall. Their footsteps echoed through the room. Slowly he walked her up the short steps leading to the seats. "Sit" he gestured to his seat in the center between Marcus and Caius's grand seats.
"Oh, I mustn't" Y/N spoke quickly. She heard from Athenodora that it was forbidden for anyone to sit in the Volturi seats. "Hush now and sit" Aro commanded her. "You are to be my wife, and you shall sit in my seat as I see just" he added with a smirk.
Y/N blushed at his gesture and quickly sat down in his seat.
As soon as Y/N sat down. Her perspective changed. Y/N sank into the hallowed seat of Aros. As she settled into the plush velvet cushions, a profound stillness enveloped her.
A surge of power coursed through her veins as she absorbed the essence of the ancient chair. It was as if centuries of wisdom and secrets whispered through her very being. Y/N's mind expanded, granting her an unparalleled clarity of thought.
She gazed upon the intricate carvings adorning the chair, each depicting scenes from the Volturi's enigmatic past. The stories of countless triumphs and betrayals unfolded before her eyes, illuminating the complexities of the vampire world.
With each passing moment, Y/N's perception sharpened. She could sense how Aro's demeanor changes within these halls during trials.
As she leaned back, the chair seemed to embrace her, offering a sense of both comfort and awe. Y/N realized that this was not merely a piece of furniture but a symbol of Aro's absolute authority.
A wave of understanding washed over her. She had glimpsed the immense responsibility that came with such power.
