Darkness enveloped her like a comforting blanket, her mind drifting in the ethereal realm of dreams. Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by a thunderous crash. she gasped and bolted upright, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Aro!" she cried out in panic, her voice trembling with fear.

But there was no answer. Instead, she rubbed the sleepiness from her eyes as the sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the opulent chamber. The door creaked shut, and standing by the chamber window was an imposing figure. It was Carlisle Cullen.

However, Y/N did not know this man. He was a vampire. Just by seeing his golden eyes, porcelain skin and unaged cunning look.

His face was etched with concern, his golden eyes blazing with determination. "Are you alright?" he asked, his voice surprisingly gentle.

I nodded, still shaken. "I...I think so. who are you?"

Carlisle scanned the room, his gaze lingering on the disheveled bed. "I am Dr. Cullen, but you can call me Carlisle. Aro sent me to tend to you" he answered.

"Oh," she stammered. Then realization rushed through her veins. She was in Aro's bed. Oh, how bad this must look. Y/N's cheeks suddenly reddened, and she felt goosebump up her arms. "I was just sleeping, and then..."

She was trailing off, unable to finish the sentence. Carlisle frowned, his expression hardening. Then his features turned into a big smile as he began to laugh.

"Oh, I do not suspect anything. I would be surprised if Aro did anything after courting a girl for ten centuries." he said with a laugh and a wink.

Y/N slightly smiled and laughed at his comment.

"Aro is gone, he is in trials the rest of today" he said bluntly.

"Did he tell you I was in here?" Y/N asked.

"Not exactly. Carlisle said in thought as he began emptying his medical bag on the table.

"I actually followed your scent here." he finished

"Oh" is all Y/N responded.

A chill ran down her spine.

"So, how are you enjoying Volturi?" Carlisle questioned her as he walked over to check her pulse while she sat up in bed.

"Ok I guess, I'm not dead so I'm good, so far." she said as she looked down at her hands that were placed on her lap.

"If I may give a word of advice, if you don't mind." Carlisle questioned.

"Of course," Y/N said

"If I were you, I would cling to Aro. Aro upholds the Volturi and if you are scared, threatened or any of the above, I would suggest being best friends with Aro." Carlisle continued.

"Yes" Y/N said with a nod.

Carlisle placed his stethoscope on Y/N's back and told her to take a couple deep breaths

"When was the last time you used your magic?" he questioned her next. This time he was asking in his professional voice.

"Well, I have not fully used my magic since I was a child. But I have used portions whenever my owner found use of it." She answered him while continuing her gaze towards her own hands.

Carlisle sensed the discomfort Y/N was feeling. Especially how her heart started racing when he asked her that question.

"Viktor is from the northern coven, correct?" He asked. His voice carrying a genuine curious tone.

"Yes, he's the leader of the northern coven. My 'people' used to live within his fortress." she stammered.

"That is until one of the witches deceived him and Viktor grew scared of your 'people's' power. which led to the trials that conspired into executing the entire species." Carlisle confirmed.

"I've read the northern histories" Carlisle smiled.

"I did not know of there being any survivors." he continued questionably.
