Athenodora stood in the grand lobby of the Volturi, her tall and elegant form exuding an air of regal confidence. Her piercing red eyes met Y/N's as she approached her, a small smirk playing on her lips.

"Y/N, how lovely to see you," Athenodora purred, her voice smooth like silk. "I trust you are prepared for our little excursion into town today?"

Y/N nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness swirling within them. Shopping for dresses with Athenodora was no small task, as she had a keen eye for fashion and an uncompromising taste for luxury, Y/N could tell by the way she usually dressed.

"I am ready," Y/N replied, trying to match Athenodora's composed demeanor. "I look forward to your guidance in selecting the perfect attire. I have never been to a ball before nor this festival Aro speaks of."

Athenodora's smirk widened slightly, a glint of mischief flickering in her eyes. "Oh, I have no doubt that we will find something truly exquisite for you," she winked at Y/N "don't be nervous about it, Aro will be by your side, I don't doubt it" she continued.

Athenodora and Y/N finally left the Volturi fortress as they were making their way into town down the cobble path. Suddenly footsteps came rushing up behind the two women. "Sorry I'm late," Jane panted, catching her breath as she joined Athenodora and Y/N on the path leading into town. Athenodora smiled warmly at Jane, her eyes bright with excitement. "No need to apologize, dear. We're just glad you could make it," she said, linking her arm with Jane's as they walked together. Y/N glanced over at the bustling town ahead, the sounds of laughter and music drifting towards them. "I can't wait to see what adventures await us today," Y/N said, a mischievous glint in her eye. The trio continued their way.

The three women twirled in front of the ornate mirror, their laughter filling the dressing room as they marveled at each other's beauty. Athenodora's gown was a deep shade of midnight blue, accentuating her striking features and making her eyes shimmer like polished sapphires. Jane's gown was a soft blush pink, delicate lace cascading down the skirt like rose petals in full bloom. Y/N hesitated before stepping out from behind the curtain, the lush crimson fabric of her gown clinging to the curve of her hip in a way that made her feel both exposed and empowered. The gown was at full length draping off her curves.

Athenodora's eyes sparkled when she seen Y/N in the dress. "That is a perfect dress for you, I'm sure Aro will adore that color on you" she mischievously smirked. Y/N chuckled, rolling her eyes playfully at Athenodora's teasing. "Well, in that case, I'll have to wear this gown more often then," she quipped, a mischievous glint in her eye.

Y/N made her way to the cashier with her gown. "The receipt is to be in the name of the Volturi" she stated almost questionably. The woman's eyes widened slightly as she raised an eyebrow. Her entire demeanor changed just by hearing the name. "Yes, my lady, I'll box the gown for you" she stated with a hint of urgency. The woman placed the gown gently into a velvet box and wrote on a piece of parchment 'Volturi'. "Have a wonderful day, may the Volturi shone upon us" she added. Y/N found it to be strange. The woman was a mortal, but by the looks of it the whole town was very aware of the Volturi.

Athenodora, Jane and Y/N picked out their gowns and followed the path back to the Volturi fortress. She couldn't wait to wear the gown she chosen. Y/N never owned fine dresses as these. Usually, she was the one helping Sonja get ready in dresses. She missed Sonja. Sonja was like a big sister to her. Athenodora and Jane resembled her in a few attributes. Perhaps her admiration towards the two-woman had to do with her longing for her friend in the north.

Little did Y/N know, that Aro asked Athenodora to take Y/N with her dress shopping. He had a visit from Carlisle, and he did not want her to know. As far as Aro knew, she didn't know anything about him being sick.

This appointment was just a routine checkup that Carlisle insisted they have every month. As Carlisle continued his routine appointment with Aro in his study, he couldn't help but sense a growing tension in the air. Aro's piercing red eyes seemed to bore into his soul, searching for something beyond the physical examination taking place.

"Is something troubling you, Aro?" Carlisle asked, his voice steady despite the unease creeping up his spine.

Aro smiled, revealing his sharp teeth in a gesture that sent a shiver down Carlisle's spine. "Oh, nothing to be concerned about, my dear Carlisle," Aro replied smoothly. "Just contemplating a few things lately"

Carlisle raised an eyebrow, a flicker of suspicion crossing his features. He had known Aro for centuries and could sense when the ancient vampire was holding back something important.

"Does it have to do with that witch of yours?" Carlisle asked lightly.

Aro's gaze was somewhere else. It was piercing into the abyss. Silence seemed to be the rooms only friend.

"Do you think I would make a good father?" Aro asked in a whisper. Carlisle paused, considering Aro's question carefully. Carlisle looked at Aro thoughtfully, his golden eyes betraying no emotion. "I believe that with your wisdom and centuries of experience, you would make an excellent father," he replied. "However, one must consider the unique challenges that come with raising a child in our world." Aro nodded, absorbing Carlisle's words. "Indeed, it is a decision not to be taken lightly," Aro said, a hint of contemplation in his voice.

"Why are you asking?" Carlisle's voice in suspicion. Aro sensed the gaze Carlisle was giving from his suspicious question. "No one is pregnant, I am just curious" Aro stated while giving Carlisle a glance.

Carlisle then placed his stethoscope off Aro's back while listening.

"I am just curious, has there been any witch hybrids" Aro asked as if speaking to himself. this made Carlisle pause. he couldn't tell if Aro was hinting about Y/N or if he was his strange sinister self that was curious. curious like a collector.

"That is something I do not know; I believe it has never happened. We all follow the same laws" Carlisle stated "Yes, yes, yes, the same ancient laws I uphold everyday" Aro sarcastically said.

Aro knew he couldn't have children with anyone. He was a vampire, and vampires couldn't reproduce with other immortal vampires. However, he has a mate. A mortal mate who can carry children. However, fate was not kind, and she is a witch. Making it a forbidden bond between species and if they had any children in the future, it would be a hybrid. The type of hybrids that Volturi condemned. And Aro was the executor of such accusations. But he was still curious.

"Do not tell me you are considering

"Do not tell me you are considering..." Carlisle started but was cut off by Aro. "Now, how am I " Aro asked while placing his hands together.

"Well, it seems whatever you been taking has been clearing up. However, I still encourage a change to your feeding" Carlisle continued. Aro knew what Carlisle was talking about. He wanted the Volturi to change to vegetarianism. No more bleeding mortals, instead they would be bleeding deer and other animals. However, just like Aro stated before, he was the Volturi leader. he had a presence to uphold and changing how the Volturi fed, and their beliefs could cause a conundrum like no other.

"You already know my answer" Aro stated with a sincere demeanor. "Now, I must leave for the impending trials waiting for me" he continued as he got up to leave from his study.

"I will be visiting Y/N today. Thought you'd want to know" Carlisle stated. just enough to make Aro stop in his tracks momentarily. "Thank you" is all Aro said as he then continued his way out of the study and left down the corridor for his daily duties to the Volturi. Carlisle packed his gear into his bag and made his way slowly down the opposite end of the corridor where Aro made way. He needed to check on Y/N and he needed to see how she been doing since her confinements came off.
