The air was thick with tension, the scent of blood mingling as Aro found himself in a savage battle against his own kin—his once brothers in the Volturi, once cohesive and united but now embroiled in a bitter struggle for the throne and supremacy. Aro had never envisioned that it would come to this, their brotherhood fracturing under the weight of ambition and betrayal. Each moment felt like a lifetime, the searing heat of combat burning through his ages-old skin as he dodged a strike aimed at his heart.

He had always prided himself on the power within—the ability to read thoughts, to anticipate moves before they were made—but today was different. Today, he was forced to defend himself, to strike hard and fast. Dread and anger twisted in his gut, fueling his actions. With a fluid motion, he caught a fellow Volturi by the arm, twisting it before snapping the neck clean in one swift motion. The sound echoed around him, drowning out the cries of combat. He hadn't wanted it to come to this. Another figure lunged at him, and before he could process his next thought, Aro had moved again, this time with precise intent, a flicker of mercy lost as he broke another neck, giving the fallen a final breath of pity.

But as he surveyed the chaos, something—someone—caught his eye. Striding into the fray was Jane, her form commanding the battlefield with the ease of a seasoned warrior. Aro's heart twisted at the sight, confusion washing over him. What was she doing here? Jane was supposed to be by Lucian's side, hunting for Viktor. Lucian was one of the few they could trust completely.

"Jane!" Aro's voice bore both command and a note of desperation as he called out. Did she not see the danger surrounding her? Did she not understand the weight of their obligations?

Her eyes, cold and fierce, locked onto his. She didn't flinch as a vampire lunged towards her; instead, it was as if she danced, barely moving as she lifted her hand. A wave of her power rippled through her, the vampire collapsing to the ground in a lifeless heap.

"Why are you here?" he shouted again, his voice a mixture of fury and concern as he fought off another attacker.

Jane smirked, as she gracefully dispatched another enemy. "I lost Lucian. We made it to the camp and he caught the sent of Viktor and Y/N." Her tone was light, almost playful, but Aro knew better. Beneath her composure lay a storm, the stakes higher than the casualties piling around them.

"Lucian is drunk!" he insisted, parrying a blow from another former ally.

"He is searching for Viktor"Jane spoke calmly.

The world was engulfed in chaos—a cacophony of clashing steel, fury-laden howls and fangs drawing blood. The battlefield was a patchwork of despair and fury as Lycan's, Elves, and Vampires tore through one another with an insatiable thirst for vengeance.

Aro stood amidst this frenzy, his long, dark coat blending seamlessly into the blood-soaked snow of Aro's once-peaceful fields. His pale skin, glistening like polished marble under the dim light of the moon.

He could barely distinguish friend from foe anymore. The battlefield was a swirling tempest, each thundering heartbeat drowning in the liquid cacophony of death. Marcus's and Aro's Volturi bore the same attire they have worn for centuries. Causing them to blend into one another.

As he fought, Aro's senses became a sharpened edge, a bladed reminder of the ever-present danger. Fangs tore into flesh

There was only left a trail of crimson that blurred the line between predator and prey.

But where was Marcus? The doubt gnawed at him as he spun around and faced a heady trio of attacking Vampires. Their eyes glimmered with cunning intelligence.

From the corner of Jane's eye, she saw a figure running away through the open field.

it was Marcus's witch

She was escaping for freedom, leaving the war far behind and retreating as fast as she could.

Jane only smiled slyly as she turned away from the battle and made her way steadily to the witch.
