Marcus had been keeping his gaze on Y/N for a while now.

what was the witch doing here?

Curled up in an armchair by the window, in the far corner of his room, was Y/N. It was Y/N, her body curled, her head resting against the chair's arm. The soft glow of the rising sun illuminated her features, casting intricate shadows that danced upon her face.

Marcus started licking the sharp corners of his fangs. His instinct, meaning he has not fed for quite a while.

His thirst for blood growing stronger with each sound of Y/N's heartbeat, a beat that is producing succulent blood within her veins. Yet, her scent so distinct and different from the other mortals.

If Marcus was going to get rid of Y/N, now was the chance. What luck was it that she be in his chambers by herself right now.

His head was still throbbing.

Marcus slowly stalked over to where Y/N been sleeping. His deep crimson eyes hunting her as if she were prey. His prey.

Her head resting on the chair arm perfectly, good enough that he could see the vein thumping her her neck. A perfect position for him to sink his teeth into and bleed her dry.

Oh, how he would bask in her blood in pure ecstasy. He wanted Aro to see him wearing her blood. The life sucked right out of her. Just enough to leave her drained on the floor.

Marcus began to lean down towards Y/N, his fangs protruding from his mouth. A low growl in the back of his throat. A growl speaking of hunger. Hunger for blood.

As he leaned down, Y/N suddenly snapped her eyes open. She uncurled herself and jumped from the seat she once slumbered in. The only sound escaping her lips a sound of shock.

"Marcus!" she yelped.

"Witch! what are you doing in my chamber?" Marcus questioned as his fangs still shown and his eyes still darkened for thirst.

"I have been tending to you! You were found unconscious in the corridor!" she answered snappily.

"Tending to me? so they send a witch to tend to a vampire" he exclaimed. his eyes glaring her body up and down.

This made Y/N extremely uncomfortable.

"Aro brought me to your chambers, I have been giving you tinctures I made to help you recover" Y/N explained.

She was hoping if she explained everything to him, he may understand and retract his fangs.

Marcus took a few extra steps towards Y/N.

She took a few steps back as her hand slowly reached her thigh. She decided to leave her hand there in case she needed her dagger.

"Aro sending his whore of a witch to tend my sickness. pathetic. and you placing your poisons into my mouth." Marcus snarled in disgust.

"They helped you heal!" Y/N proclaimed. "I will leave you" she continued as she walked slowly around him to leave.

That is when Marcus sharply grabbed her arm and pulled her close to him, so she was forced to face him.

"Where do you think you're going...witch?" he added as his gaze looked down at her. As if she were nothing more than a dog.

"I am going to the Volturi court to speak with Aro about your awakening" she said in a whisper.

Y/N was not fighting this tussle. The problem was, she was so used to Viktor and her life in the north. Being treated in this manner felt natural to her.

"And why would you need to notify Aro?" he gave her a narrowed questioning look.

Y/N could sense he was trying to scent her out. She could tell he was searching for something. he was searching for the truth of her leaving so fast to find Aro.

"I just... thought I should tell him"She said as her gaze melted to the floor. She knew her lie was faltering.

"What did you see?" his hand grabbed her chin, forcing her to look up at him. His phrase made her eyes widen.

Because of her changed features, this gave away her lie. He realized he had her closed in a glass jar now.

"What did you see witch" he yelled in her face with a snarl.

"I didn't see anything!" she yelped back at him as she tried to grab his arm which held her in place.

"Lies, you witch always lie!" he was practically screaming now. This causing Y/N to tightly close her eyes from the backlash of his voice near her face.

"No lies!" is all she could mutter.

However, Marcus was not buying it. Marcus knew of witches. He been around witches' centuries before Viktor slain them all to extinction. Marcus loathed her species.

Marcus never mentioned his childhood to any of the Volturi. Especially not Aro. Marcus purely hated witches. He blamed the witches for his mother's untimely death when he was just a wee lad. He found witches to be untrustworthy. just as the witches were untrustworthy to his family when they were supposed to heal his mother from sickness. She never healed, and the witches lied.

"Answer me now!" his voice raised.

Y/N quickly grabbed her dagger from its sheath on her thigh. she pointed it up directly under Marcus's chin.

"I said no lies, I have seen nothing!" she lowered her voice. As she was attempting to sound braver than she was.

"a dagger huh? and what do you plan on doing with it?" he scuffed

"I plan on slitting your cold bloody throat!" she spat back.

Marcus only laughed at this theatrical display.

"Go ahead and try, that dagger couldn't kill me if it tried" he stated plainly with a slight smirk. Then he tilted his head and looked closely at Y/N. "I believe I am not the only one to inform you about your blade" he questioned her.

Y/N said nothing to his statement. She was not going to give him gratification.

"Let go of me now" she said sternly. As if she were correcting a small child.

This statement is what fed the wrath Y/N was about to encounter.

Marcus let go of her chin and turned his hand over swiftly as he smacked her across the face. Causing her head to snap to the side.

The pain from Marcus's hand caused a whimper to escape her lips. Along with her dagger clashing to the floor.

His nails leaving a nasty blood streak across the side of her face. Along with awaiting bruising she assumed

"Look at me!" He commanded with raging eyes
Y/N refused to look at him. " I said look at me witch!" He then grabbed the back of her head by her hair, forcing her to acknowledge him

"Whatever you saw, you do not speak of. If you speak one word to Aro, I will find you and drain your body." he threatened in a low whisper against Y/N's face.

"How would you know if I see anything?" she questioned.

"I have my experiences with witches, I remember seeing your figure in my head" he winked at her. A wicked wink and a sly smile.

"Keep your eyes open, witch. I will be visiting you soon. I want to taste what Aro finds so appealing" he said in a smooth tone.

This frightened Y/N. causing her breath to hitch.

He suddenly let go of her arm and she stared at him as she backed away to the door, along the way picking up her dagger. then quickly turned to run down the corridor.

Y/N was in a predicament. She could not tell Aro of her findings. If she did, he would not believe her. If she informed him, Marcus would have his fangs deep into her throat.

Her heart was racing, her eyes watering, her head pounding.

what can she do? does she stand by and watch Aro fall? or does she risk it all to inform him of her findings?
