Y/N turned the ancient pages of the magic book, her eyes scanning the intricate symbols and spells inscribed on the yellowed parchment. As she delved deeper into the forbidden knowledge.
Y/N focused her energy, following the intricate instructions from the ancient book. She chanted the words softly under her breath, feeling a tingling sensation in her fingertips. Suddenly, a spark of light appeared before her. Y/N's heart raced with excitement and trepidation as she looked upon the light in her palm.
The light was faint, she knew her magic was weak from the confinements she worn for a long time. She needed to practice.
Y/N stayed in the library as she flipped through the ancient books pages. Searching through spells, trying to perfect her craft. The ancient book seemed to come alive in her hands, whispering secrets of the arcane that only she could decipher. long shadows were appearing across the room, Y/N finally felt a surge of power within her. With a flick of her wrist and a whispered incantation, the books on the shelves began to float in midair, their pages flipping frantically as if possessed by some unseen force. Y/N smiled with satisfaction, her mastery of magic beginning to grow.
But it would take time.
"Y/N" a voice snuck up behind Y/N. This made her breathing stop and she jumped where she stood. Along with the book slamming to the ground where it once was floating. Y/N then realize who was standing right behind her.
"Are you alright?" Aro asked as his crimson eyes were laid on her.
"Sorry, I found this book and thought I would try..." she stammered the words
"Magic" Aro finished the sentence for her. "I figured you would be in here" he continued with a grin.
Y/N then realized she been in the library for hours and Aro must've found she was not back in his chamber.
Aro then walked over to where the book laid and picked it up. His hand grazing the fine ancient pages.
"This book has been occupied in this library for five centuries" Aro stated in an almost whisper. "Please, use it" Aro held the book out for Y/N to take.
Y/N grabbed the book from Aro's hands. Their skin slightly touching in the process. The scent of Y/N driving Aro's instinct wild. Y/N could tell his fangs were trying to hold back in his mouth and his eyes were a darker red than usual. Matching the velvet curtains covering the library windows.
"How were the trials?" Y/N asked, "They went well, Y/N," Aro replied with a smile. "The accused were executed... as usual." He paused, his expression turning serious. "But there is still much work to be done. The darkness that looms over our land is not easily dispelled." Y/N nodded, understanding the weight of his responsibilities.
Y/N tried to hide the unease that crept through her at Aro's words. How could he describe execution with ease. As if it were just another day and another activity. Yet, that is how Aro saw it. It was his everyday duty as the Volturi leader.
"Enough about me, how was your training with Lucian?" Aro asked, his eyes widening with curiosity. "It went well, I haven't trained since I was north." Y/N answered with a slight smile on her face. The thought of seeing her friend again and being able to train with him was enjoyable. Something she never imagined she'd be able to do.
"Aro..." she began "Thank you for the dagger" she continued as she unsheathed it from her thigh and held it in her palm for Aro to see. His gaze left her eyes to see the precious piece displayed on her palms. "Ahh, I'm happy you like it" he said as he picked it up and held it out. He was looking at the blade with intense eyes.
"Lucian said it can kill vampires" she stated. Her eyes still on Aro as she was looking for a response. "Yes, precisely what I asked of him" He stated with his glare still beholding the dagger in hand. His finger rubbing the sharp edge. As if he was desperately debating on cutting his finger.
"Why? why would you want me to have a weapon that could harm you?" She asked in curiosity. "Are you planning on slitting me throat? "He asked in a soft voice as he handed the dagger back to Y/N. His gaze then moved back up to her eyes. Penetrating her pupils. "No, I just don't understand" she replied. "I want you to have a weapon that can protect you, protect you from monsters like me" he stated. "But you are not a monster" she countered.
The statement made Aro tilt his head slightly. He licked his lips in concentration to the words she just said. "There are vampires here that are not as.... gentle as I am. There are some here that are worse than Marcus" he continued with a worried look in Y/N's direction. "If it means having a weapon you can kill me with, then that is the right weapon to kill them as well" he stated
"I do not want any harm to come to you, my Orchid. I am worried for your safety. I love you Y/N" his eyes soft just as his tone. The words falling of his lips like honey.
Y/N investigated Aro's eyes, seeing the genuine concern and love in them. She felt a wave of emotions rush over her, unsure of how to respond.
Aro reached out and gently took her hand in his, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. "You don't have to say anything, my dear. I just needed you to know how I feel. Your safety is always my top priority, and I will do whatever it takes to protect you." he was leaning closer to her. "I have waited centuries for you".
Y/N felt tears welling up in her eyes as she gazed at Aro, realizing just how much he truly cared for her. She whispered softly, " Aro. I... I love you too."
A small smile tugged at the corners of Aro's lips as he pulled Y/N into a warm embrace, holding her close. His head resting on hers. He loved the fact she was short enough for him. He loved her soft, warm mortal body against his cold, brittle bones.
Aro then pulled back slightly so he could see Y/N's face just inches from his. He entertained their hands together has he placed his forehead on hers. Her eyes looked up into his crimsons. His eyes looking down into hers.
Y/N melted into the sweet sound of their hearts beating in sync as they stood there, frozen in time. Aro's breath mingled with Y/N's, creating a cocoon of intimacy around them. The world seemed to disappear, leaving only the two of them in this moment of connection. With a gentle smile playing on his lips and his thumb circling sweet nothing onto the skin of her hand, Aro whispered, "I can't promise you a life without challenges," his voice barely above a breath. "But I can promise you that I'll face everything and anything with you" His gaze was intense, searching her eyes for any sign of doubt.
Y/N eyes were filled with lust as she looked up into his crimsons. Oh, how she could stare into them all day if she could. "Promise me one thing" Aro whispered again. "If there is ever a time I turn against you... promise me... you will use that dagger on me" He looked deep into her eyes for any recognition. Y/N nodded her head slightly in agreement. Her eyes slightly watering.
Aro couldn't help but lose himself in her. Her scent driving him made. The way her hands fit in his. How dominate he felt when holding her soft, warm, mortal body. He reached his hand up and cradled her head as he delved in and brushed his lips against hers. This kiss was different, it was full of emotion. A depth in their connection. This kiss could conquer civilizations.
Y/N's heart was in sync with Aro's as their lips met, the kiss deepening with every passing moment. She could feel the warmth of his touch seeping into her, sending shivers down her spine. Lost in the embrace, she let herself be carried away by the intensity of their connection. Time seemed to stand still as they savored each other's presence, their bond growing stronger with every beat of their hearts. And in that fleeting moment, Y/N knew that Aro was not just a lover, but a soulmate, destined to be intertwined with her own for eternity.
