In the gilded embrace of the morning sun, Y/N stirred from her slumber. As she opened her eyes, a gentle throbbing pulsed behind her temples, a lingering echo of the previous night's indulgence with Aro in the dining hall.

The sun streamed through the ornate windows of her chamber, casting a warm glow over the plush furnishings. Y/N sat up, her gaze sweeping across the opulent room. Memories of the evening before danced in her mind.

She had dined with Aro, a charming and enigmatic vampire. They had talked and laughed, sharing stories and sipping on glasses of fine wine. Though she was certain there was more in his goblet than just red wine. The hours had slipped away, and Y/N had succumbed to the allure of the moment, drinking more than she had intended.

Most likely out of nervousness.

Now, as she lay in her bed, the consequences of her actions were making themselves known. Her head pounded, and her stomach churned. She sighed, knowing that she had paid the price for her reckless abandon.

Slowly, she got out of bed and made her way to the window. The city below was a vibrant tapestry of colors and sounds. Birds sang in the trees, and the laughter of children echoed through the streets.

Y/N took a deep breath of the fresh morning air. Despite her headache, a sense of contentment washed over her. She had experienced a night of passion and adventure. Which she had never felt before and she had no regrets.

With a newfound sense of purpose, Y/N finished dressing and left her chamber. She had a day ahead of her, filled with curiosity. And although her head might be pounding, her heart was light and her spirit soared.

Y/N found herself drawn to the enigmatic corridors. Curiosity consumed her as she ventured through the imposing walls.

The Volturi grounds stood tall and menacing, its towering spires reaching towards the heavens. Its stone exterior hinted at the sinister secrets it held within.

As she explored the inner walls of Volturi, she stumbled upon a grand hall. A long, ornate table dominated the center of the room, surrounded by high-backed chairs. she could almost hear the echoes of whispered conversations and the clinking of goblets.

This hall was larger than the dining hall she attended last night with Aro. This room was grand. It must've once held parties in these rooms.

She continued her exploration, her mind racing with questions. Who had once walked these halls? What dark deeds had transpired here? she felt a strange pull towards a hidden staircase that led to an upper level.

With each step she took, the air grew colder, and the shadows seemed to close in around her. At the top of the stairs, she found herself in a dimly lit room. A single window offered a glimpse of the desolate landscape outside.

In the center of the room stood a massive throne, carved from a single block of black marble. As she approached it, she noticed a faint shimmer in the air. Suddenly, a figure came up behind her.

It was a tall, pale man with piercing red eyes and a cruel smile. He wore a flowing black cape that seemed to absorb the light around him. She knew instantly that she was in the presence of one of the Volturi.

"What have I here?" the cruel smiling man said. "I am so sorry; I was just walking the corridors and came across this room." Y/N stated quickly with a quivering voice.

Marcus's gaze met Y/N's. She felt a slight surge of terror. This man had crueler eyes than Aro's. This man had the appearance he has committed worse. Why was he here? Did he follow her? and what was he going to do to her?

"My deepest apologies, I did not mean to frighten you. I was carrying out my business when I noticed the door was open" Marcus lied through his teeth. He been watching her and followed her stealthily from her chambers to this precise moment.

"If you don't mind, I been needing to meet with Athenodora." Y/N made an excuse to leave Marcus's presence. As Y/N was about to pass Marcus and make her way down the hidden staircase, Marcus speedily grabbed her wrist tight.

This caused Y/N to wince from the strong hold Marcus held upon her wrists.

"I do have to say, you smell wonderful". Marcus said in a wicked grin. Y/N quickly felt uncomfortable. She tried to pull her hand away, only for Marcus to pull her in closer.

With a whisper in the air, Marcus only spoke so little words. "I enjoy the taste of mortals, you might be a witch, but you still bleed the same," he hissed, his voice a silken whispered threat that sent shivers down her spine.

His words hung heavy in the air, each syllable a threat. She felt the weight of his gaze upon her, like icy fingers probing for weakness.

"You must forget," he commanded, his voice now a low growl. "Erase any thought that Aro is your friend, remember my seat is next to his and I am a whisper to his ear." Fear surged through her as she realized the true extent of her predicament.

Marcus's eyes narrowed. "Run" he said with a low deep laugh from the back of his throat and a lick of his sharp teeth.

With a swift, fluid motion, she lunged forward, and he let go willingly. This allowing her to run down the stairs and leave the vicinity of the corridor.

Pain exploded through her body from the pain in her wrist, but it was the cold, malevolent intent in his eyes that truly terrified her. He was not just a vampire; he was an ancient predator, a master of his craft and he stood next to Aro on the Volturi trials.

As darkness enveloped her, she knew that her fate was sealed. Marcus Volturi had condemned her to oblivion, a mere footnote. He would soon sink his teeth into her veins, even if that means he could convince Aro to end her.

She would soon die. Aro will tire of her. Viktor will clasp his claws on her.

So, Y/N ran and ran. Her eyes wet and red with terror. She felt her lungs tighten and she need to get out. She needed air, fresh air. She needed to leave to breathe. She wanted to be left alone. She was scared. Y/N ran out into the Volturi gardens and ran to sit on the bench set outside. She rubbed her eyes then lifted her head to feel the warmth of the sun on her face.

This made Y/N feel at ease. The sun's warmth felt like an invisible hug that wrapped around her. This made Y/N feel safe. For now, she felt safe.
