Lucian held Y/N close, his eyes filled with a mixture of concern and relief. Aro's eyes never leaving the scene.

While still embracing his friend Y/N, he looked up upon her features. "Are you truly alright?" he whispered, his voice barely above a breath.

Y/N nodded slowly, her body still trembling slightly. "I am... I am now," she murmured.

"I should have never let you go on your own" Lucian stated as he took a side glance at Aro. A look of distrust.

"It is alright, I got myself in this situation" Y/N stated.

Lucian kept giving a side glance to Aro as him and Y/N whispered to each other. Y/N noticed the daring exchange between the two men. The only individual not succumbed by the staring contest was Raze who was standing not too far behind.

"Why are you here actually?" Y/N asked with a concerned look.

"Not captured if that what you're asking." He said with a deep laugh. "Actually, I am here to fulfill a promise to a dear friend." he continued as he grabbed her hands and held them up for her to see.

"Can you? is it possible?" she questioned. Her voice of uncertainty and a tang of bewilderment.

"I figured out a way to release your confinements" he declared to Y/N with a smile.

"Is it this true?" Y/N asked as she turned to look at Aro questioningly.

Why would Aro let her confinements off? Yes, he is her mate. But a witch free to her magic was dangerous. All vampires and Lycans knew that to be true.

"Yes, my orchid" Aro spoke with a smile.

"Orchid?" Lucian repeated with a questioning gaze.

Y/N pretended she didn't notice the two men's exchange and turned to face Lucian again. This time him meeting her gaze as well.

"What do we need to do?" Y/N asked. Her voice full of certainty like a child being allowed to enter a candy store.

"Well, 'I' brought a few things with me" Lucian stated as Raze held up a torn leather bag for her to see.

Lucian then leaned down close to her ear in a whisper "Does he always have to be watching you?" he asked

Y/N only giggled at his words. "You mean Aro?" she laughed

Lucian nodded his head

Y/N then turned and faced Aro whose crimson eyes were showing curiosity of their exchange.

"Can you give us some time?" she asked Aro. He gave her a concerned stare.

"It is ok" she clarified to him. Aro nodded once in understanding then swiftly left the trial room. Leaving Lucian and Y/N in complete silence.

"Now, tell me. How are you?" Lucian asked with a louder tone. No longer whispering.

"I am fine Lucian" she stated. Now placing her hands on her hips. "You may not believe it, but I am fine" she continued.

"If you say so. You can leave with me and the clan" Lucian indicated as Raze let out an agreeing hum.

"Lucian, if I go with you, I would be putting the clan in danger." Y/N stated

"There will always be room and acceptance for you" Lucian gave a deep stare into Y/N's eyes.

"One of these days" Y/N confirmed. This allowing Lucian to relax a bit more.

Lucian and Y/N walked over to four steps that lead to the Volturi seats. Both sitting at the bottom step.

"Now, your chains" Lucian stated as he started picking at the confinement locks.

It felt like two hours have gone by. Lucian still working on releasing Y/N's confinement bracelets and Raze walking around the trial room. His eyes staring at the engravings and tapestries sprung through the tall ancient room.

Y/N couldn't help but look upon her friend. She noticed that his hair was longer, his beard fuller. He had new scars marking his body where she could see. His eyes were different. Not the same eyes of the Lycan she known before passing the tree lines.

"Lucian... " Y/N started. Somehow, she felt her voice was fading as she began her question. "How have you been?" she asked. Understanding that Lucian never once spoke about himself or the clan's wellbeing.

"Been better" is all he stated while his attention was staying on breaking her confinements.

"How is Sonja?" Y/N asked. If Lucian was here, he would've brought Sonja with him.

At this question Lucian stopped all he was doing. Silence roamed the room. She noticed Raze stopped strolling and turned to face them as the name Sonja echoed through the room.

"Lucian?" Y/N question. She was worried about the answer. Why was no one saying anything.

Then with a heavy breath exhaling from Lucian's mouth. He looked up at his friend. "She didn't make it past the northern wall" is all he stated as he tilted his head back down and started working on her confinements again.

Y/N understood what Lucian just indicated. Sonja was dead. He told her the day of their escape that she was supposed to meet him. But that seemed to not happen. Y/N felt a heavy weight of emotion at this news. Sonja was not just Lucian's love. She was also Y/N's friend. Y/N was her lady's maid for many years. Witnessing the love exchanged between Lucian and Sonja. Even though Y/N was a servant and slave to the northern coven. Sonja was always decent to her. She even helped Y/N from being beaten by her father Viktor.

"Lucian... I am so sorry... I didn't know" Y/N said with a soft voice.

"It is ok, how could you have known" is all Lucian said as he continued his work.

"Lucian..." she started. She noticed her friend was purposely keeping busy. His attention too drawn to her confinements. As if he was avoiding the conversation all together.

Y/N knew Lucian could hide his feelings and conceal them. He had put on a brave face, as he was doing now. keeping himself busy and pushing forward. But deep down, he was like a puppy.

"Look at me" Y/N finally finished.

Lucian then stopped and tilted his head up. She could see his eyes were slightly red and filled with tears. His gaze softened as soon as his eyes met hers. That is when her true friend Lucian unravelled.

That is when she pulled him into a deep embrace

That is when she pulled him into a deep embrace. She could hear his sobs and scattered breathing as she motherly soothed her hand on his head.

"Everything will be ok" she kept saying in a soothing voice.

Raze watched from a far and gave a gracious nod in Y/N's direction. Then he began strolling through the room again. More than likely giving Lucian time to let his emotions release. This indicating Lucian has not had time to feel for a long time. More than likely his mind busy protecting his clan and whatever else he does to occupy the time. and what been occupying his time seemed to be rum by what she could smell on him.

There she let him unravel. She allowed her friend to use her embrace as a counsellor.
