In the labyrinthine halls of Volturi, Y/N's heart pounded like a drum in her chest. Panic propelled her towards her chambers, her footsteps echoing through the desolate corridors.

As she reached the heavy wooden door, she fumbled with the handle, her hands trembling violently. With a desperate shove, she pushed it open and scrambled inside. Slamming the door shut behind her, she frantically searched for something to barricade it.

Her gaze fell upon the chair she used before. She dragged it towards the door and jammed the handle.

Y/N kept adding objects around the door. Each object she added brought a false sense of security, knowing that whatever lurked outside could easily break through.

With the door finally secured, Y/N collapsed on the floor, her body trembling with exhaustion and fear. Her mind raced, trying to make sense of the chaos that had unfolded.

Moments earlier, she had attempted to confide into Aro about Marcus's malice gesture. Only to walk into a massacre. A massacre that would soon involve her body writhing on the same floor those victims now lay.

Y/N had fled in terror, her heart pounding in her throat. She had watched with growing dread as the figure, a creature of darkness, had ruthlessly attacked the guests, its movements swift and deadly.

Now, trapped within her own chambers, Y/N felt a cold shiver run down her spine. She had no way of knowing what horrors awaited her outside the door, but she knew she had to stay hidden. She could not look into those crimson eyes.

his eyes

As the minutes ticked by, Y/N listened intently for any sound. The castle was eerily silent, the only noise being the beating of her own heart. She knew she couldn't stay barricaded forever, but the thought of venturing outside filled her with unspeakable dread.

Then, within the silence echoed the pounding of her chamber door. Y/N stayed silent in her position on the floor. "Y/N, it's me, Jane." the soft voice echoed from behind the door.

"Aro sent me to check on you, are you hurt?" Jane continued. Unfortunately, all Y/N could do was stay silent. Even if she wanted to speak up, she felt her body may not allow her to.

Due to the silence, Jane decided to leave Y/N alone as she made her path down the corridor. Jane wanted to get back to her meal before one of the Volturi men decided to keep it for themselves.

With a trembling hand, Y/N reached for the candle on the table and lit it, its flickering flame casting a weak glow over the room. As she stared into the shadows, Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching her, its unseen eyes piercing through the darkness.

Little did Y/N know that Aro was watching her. He knew his corridors, he knew his rooms, he knows every nook and cranny. Especially every secret passage. Behind a large velvet curtain contained a hidden passageway. A passageway hidden from the eye. Hidden behind intricate tapestries and velvet fabrics.

All Aro needed was a small crack from the opening to see Y/N on her floor

All Aro needed was a small crack from the opening to see Y/N on her floor. He noticed how she did not answer Jane. He seen how scared she was. He wanted to touch her, make certain that no one here at Volturi would ever touch her again.

However, he sensed she wanted to be left alone. And by the way she barricaded the doors, he was best to leave her. No matter how easy it would be for him to knock the barricade down and enter without her approval.

He needed to check his steps carefully. He would need to slowly make Y/N comfortable again.

He needed to find Marcus. Then he closed the crack he was peering through and continued his journey to where he suspected Marcus to be.

Y/N sensed that the unforeseen eye has vanished. This made Y/N a bit jumpy. That is when she decided to get up.

She made her way to the bed and laid upon it. The soft texture of the bedding engulfing her. Then, as she turned her head to stare at the tapestries among the walls, she noticed her dagger still sheathed on the nightstand. This gave Y/N an idea.

She would keep her promise to leave Voltrui, to leave these lands in search of something anew. She was not Aro's keepsake, she was not Viktor's servant. She was a rare witch that needed to escape.

Tonight, she will escape.
