In the ethereal dawn's embrace, as the sun peeked over the horizon, casting a golden glow upon the sprawling shores of the south, the day had finally arrived. Lucian, Y/N's dearest friend, stood tall and resolute amidst the bustling crowd that had gathered on the rocky and sandy beach.

The air crackled with a mix of excitement and sorrow as Lucian's clan prepared to embark on a perilous journey to a fabled world beyond the vast ocean. Ships, their sails billowing in the gentle breeze, awaited them at the water's edge, promising both adventure and uncertainty. Both ships flew the Volturi flags as the wind billowed.

Y/N watched with a heavy heart as Lucian approached, his eyes reflecting a mix of anticipation and trepidation. They had shared countless memories and forged an unbreakable bond. The thought of him leaving filled Y/N with a bittersweet longing.

"Lucian," Y/N whispered, her voice trembling slightly, "I wish you well on your journey, I hope you find your peace" she smiled genuinely to Lucian.

Lucian's lips curled into a reassuring smile. "I shall miss you, Y/N, but know that this is not goodbye." Lucian's words made Y/N begin to cry. She was happy for her friend. But she was saddened and afraid of being left in Volturi without a familiar face from the north. Out of nowhere she embraced Lucian in a tight hug. Her face buried into his chest. Lucian was slightly taken aback. However, he gently placed his arms around her and leaned his head, so it was resting on top of hers.

They embraced tightly; their bodies pressed together in a silent vow to cherish the years they had shared. "Write me if there are any worries, and I shall come for you" Lucian spoke. Y/N nodded as she let go of her friend and began to rub her eyes dry.

As Lucian turned to board his ship, Y/N watched him go, her eyes filled with both sadness and a flicker of hope.

The ships slipped into the water, their hulls cutting through the waves with determined strokes. As they sailed away from shore, Y/N stood motionless on the beach, her gaze fixed upon the horizon where the vessels disappeared into the boundless expanse.

From afar, Aro was watching. He stood far behind so Y/N could not notice his presence. However, Lucian nodded to him before he left to board the ship. A nod of understanding the promise both men kept to each other, that they vowed to not let Y/N know. A language only men could speak.

Y/N wrapped her arms around herself. The ships were long gone and out of sight. Aro suddenly came up next to where she was standing. He sensed she needed him. That is when she began to cry again, this time in Aro's arms. Her face tucked into his chest as he caressed her back with soft motions.

Aro stayed silent and allowed Y/N to feel through her emotions. He knew this day was coming. He promised Lucian ships so his clan could travel to safer lands. He just didn't realize that Y/N would be left in Volturi without a familiar face. Yes, she loves Aro and made friends with Athenodora and Jane. However, they were not close friends like he witnessed between Y/N and Lucian. They shared a bond from broken pasts and escaped futures. Almost like family. A family from the north. He knew he needed to comfort Y/N for the days to come.

Y/N couldn't help but weep in Aro's arms. She wept until she couldn't physically cry anymore. Yes, she was upset. But she never been this emotional before. Her emotions roared like the flowing tides.

Aro then placed a hand on Y/N's chin and pulled her up to look at him. "Goodbyes not forever" Ar stated softly. Y/N nodded as she sniffled. "Come, you still need to rest" Aro stated. His eyes showing worry as he searched her gaze. "I am fine, Aro. It's been two days" She stated stubbornly. "And you are still weak" Aro grasped her hand within his. Y/N and Aro made their way back to the Volturi fortress. Aro guiding Y/N back slow and steadily. He was still concerned for her health. She had been recovering. However, she was slightly weak and needed to gain back her strength. Until then, he was not allowing her out of his sight.

As Y/N and Aro followed their path to Volturi. A little girl came running out of the orphanage door as they were passing by the gate. "Y/N!" the girl exclaimed as she grabbed Y/N's legs in a tight gripped hug. Just about knocking Y/N backwards where she stood. "Lilly!" Y/N exclaimed in a cheerful tone to the little girl. As the girl embraced her, Y/N patted a hand on the girl's head.

Aro couldn't help but keep his gaze on the two. He found Y/N's affection beautiful how she acted with children. Yet, he was curious about the mortal reaction. He wished he could feel mortality again. Though, he was happy with witnessing the feeling from Y/N.

"can you do the magic again?" the little girl looked up at Y/N, asking with pleading eyes. Y/N couldn't help by smile at the little girl and her cheerful glee. "Only once" Y/N indicated with her finger. She let go of Aro and placed both her palms in front of herself. She first needed to stabilize herself since she let go of Aro. This made him cautious as he stood next to her. Yet, his crimsons were curious and watching her steadily.

Y/N closed her eyes and concentrated, her fingers tracing intricate patterns in the air

Y/N closed her eyes and concentrated, her fingers tracing intricate patterns in the air. Then a surge of energy coursed through her veins. Suddenly, a vibrant bloom materialized in her palm, its petals unfurling like a delicate dance.

The little girls eyes widened in amazement as Y/N presented her with the flower. Its petals shimmered with iridescent hues, and its fragrance filled the air with an intoxicating sweetness.

"Oh, it's beautiful!" Lilly exclaimed; her face radiant with joy. She held the petal within her grasp as she hugged Y/N's legs once again.

Y/N watched as the little girl skipped away back inside the orphanage, clutching her cherished flower close to her heart. In that moment, she realized that the true power of magic lay not only in its practical applications but also in its ability to bring happiness and wonder into the world. Y/N was happy to bring joy with her power. Instead of Viktor's dealings in the past.

Aro was amazed by what he just witnessed. He found it magnificent. Her magic has grown. Then Aro's thoughts took course. The realization that her magic had been growing at a fast rate. He then remembered the conversation he had with Carlisle and the intrusive thoughts he been holding. Was Y/N hiding her true power from him? when did she begin using her magic like this?

Suddenly his thoughts were shaken as he heard Y/N's voice. "Aro" Y/N spoke softly as she grabbed his arm. "let's head back" she smiled up to him. Aro nodded in agreement as they both continued their path forward.
