Here Mia was, lying down on her bed, thinking of how to get Jay back.

Maybe she could contour a bit of her magic left dormant in her!

... No, that won't work. She'd need Bonzle, and she's all the way in the Wyldness.

What if she asked Nya and the others if they found a  Djinn?

Absolutely not! Nya's still afraid of Djinns, and she didn't want her sister- in- law to freak out and start hyperventilating.

 Venture out and get lost?

Out of the question! If Jay came back, what would she be doing?

And she wanted to come back.

Then, Kai came in.

" Hi, Mia." He said softly.

Mia raised her eye brows, indicating she was listening.

" I got you food."

Mia sighed, and croaked, " Kai, I love you and all, but how do you think I can eat when Jay is gone? It feels..... wrong, you know?"

" This isn't good for your mental health, or your actual health."

Mia grunted as she turned, and said, " Since when did you care so much about health, Mister Fire-breather?"

Kai smiled faintly, and sat down on the edge of her bed.

" Since the day we made that club, and Nya went to Jay."

Mia fell silent, the weight of Kai's words settling on her. A flicker of shame warmed her cheeks. She knew he was right. Stubbornly clinging to her grief wouldn't bring Jay back, and it was slowly consuming her.

"Alright," she mumbled, her voice hoarse. "Put it down. Maybe a bite wouldn't hurt."

A relieved smile spread across Kai's face. He set the tray on her bedside table, carefully arranging the simple meal. It wasn't much – some bread, cheese, and fruit – but it looked inviting.

"There you go," he said gently. "Small steps, Mia. We'll figure this out together."

Mia reached for a piece of bread, her gaze drifting to the window. The afternoon sun cast long shadows across their room, a stark contrast to the turmoil within her.

"Do you think..." she began, her voice barely a whisper, "Do you think he's alright?"

Kai's smile faltered. "We don't know, Mia. But giving up hope won't help him either. We need to be strong, for him and for ourselves."

Mia nodded slowly, tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. "You're right. But Kai..." She hesitated, then blurted out, "What if he doesn't come back?"

The question hung heavy in the air. Kai took a deep breath, his eyes filled with a quiet determination.

"Then we find him, Mia. We gather everyone, Nya, Cole, Zane, anyone who can help. We scour the Wyldness, every nook and cranny, until we bring him home."

A spark ignited in Mia's eyes, a flicker of the old fire. Grief wouldn't disappear, but a seed of hope, nurtured by Kai's unwavering support, began to take root.

"You're right again," she whispered, a newfound resolve finding its way into her voice. "We won't give up. Not until Jay is safe."

" Yep." He echoed. " Not until Mr. Birdbrain is safe."

" Hey!" Mia barked, her face whipping to Kai's. "My brother is NOT a birdbrain, and I mean it. Is that clear?"

Kai nodded. " Yes, Mia."

" Okay. Good."

" Mia? You... You're finally-"

" Out of my room?" Mia smiled. " Yes, Nya. Yes."

" This is quite unexpected." Zane pointed out."

" Thank you, Mister roboto." Mia replied, rolling her eyes. "Now, tell me everything. What have you learned since the Merge ?"

Nya, her voice thick with emotion, spoke first. "Alright, Mia. Here's what we know. We've been up against a new group called the Forbidden Five. They're elemental masters gone bad. There's a powerful villain named Lord Ras, and he used to be obsessed with capturing dragons. Now, he trains people to be evil, like an elemental master of smoke and a girl named Jordana."

Cole added gruffly, "There's another group too, the Administration. They relocate people who are lost after the merge. They also seem to hate elemental masters, because we ' stole equipment'."

Mia listened intently, her fingers tapping a silent rhythm against her cloak. "And Jay?" she finally asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Nya shook her head sadly. "We haven't found a single trace of him. We're searching everywhere."

A flicker of realization then crossed Mia's face. "Wait a minute," she said, a low growl forming in her throat. "Did you all say something about stolen equipment?"

The others exchanged nervous glances. Zane, ever the logical one, stepped forward. "Yes, Mia," he admitted. "There was a... misunderstanding with the Administration. The others may have some equipment without proper authorization."

Mia stared at him, her features hardening. Five excruciating seconds ticked by, then a whirlwind erupted around her. Papers on nearby tables flew, and the air crackled with unleashed power.

"Stole?!" Mia roared, unleashing a powerful gust of wind that formed into a miniature hurricane.  "You mean Zane? They think Zane, the literal walking rulebook, is just EQUIPMENT?!"

The wind howled, whipping around the room. Mia threw her arms wide, channeling her emotions into the growing storm.

"Alright, my pretty," she yelled, directing the hurricane towards the window with a flick of her wrist.  "Go to the Administration and MAKE THEM PAY for their wrongs! Find Jay, and if you can manage it, bring back my brother too!"

The miniature hurricane surged out the window, carrying Mia's fury towards the Administration's building in the Realm of Madness. The others watched in stunned silence, a mixture of awe and apprehension etched on their faces.

Cole whistled, breaking the silence. "Well, that escalated quickly."

" ESCALATED QUICKLY?!" Mia yelled. " THOSE PEOPLE DARE MESS WITH US?! WELL, I HOPE THEY KNOW, ABSOLUTELY NOT GONNA HAPPEN."

Kai smiled. " You haven't changed."

" One bit." Cole added.

" Cole added
