Lightning Chicken

The lightning Chicken was sick.

Wu was out of town for the week.

Forcing the ninja to try and catch the chicken and bring it to the vet.

But that's harder than it sounded.

"Zap!" A bolt of electricity crackled through the air, singeing Cole's eyebrows and leaving a faint chicken-shaped scorch mark on his forehead. He yelped, hopping back and clutching his head.

"Ow! Okay, okay, maybe electrocution wasn't the best approach," he grumbled, brushing the soot off his uniform.

Jay, finally back in his right mind after his amnesia ordeal in the Realm of Endless Baths, chuckled. "Maybe not, Cole. Especially since it seems this 'Lightning Chicken' has a rather shocking defense mechanism."

Kai, ever the hothead, was already gearing up for another attempt. "Don't worry, I've got this!" he declared, flames flickering in his hands.

"Wait, Kai!" Zane interjected, his metallic voice laced with concern. "Direct heat could further aggravate the chicken's condition. Remember, Wu instructed us to capture it unharmed for the vet."

Kai sighed, extinguishing his flames with a practiced flick of his wrist. "Fine, fine. But any ideas, oh wise Zane?"

Zane hummed thoughtfully, his blue eyes scanning the farmyard. The Lightning Chicken, a magnificent beast with feathers the color of a storm cloud, strutted around a large hay bale, occasionally letting out a defiant cluck and a zap for good measure.

"Perhaps," Zane began, "a more... indirect approach might be in order. We could lure it into a cage with its favorite food."

"Food, huh?" Cole scratched his chin. "But what does a lightning chicken even eat?"

Suddenly, a voice piped up from behind them. "Probably something high in voltage!"

They all turned to see Nya, holding a steaming plate of... waffles?

"Waffles?" Jay raised an eyebrow. "Since when are waffles electrified?"

Nya winked. "Since I spent the last ten minutes hot-wiring the waffle iron to the fence. It's a low-grade current, just enough to tingle, not zap."

A slow smile spread across Jay's face. "Classic Nya. Always thinking outside the box."

Carefully, Nya placed the plate near the edge of the farmyard, keeping a safe distance. The Lightning Chicken, drawn by the scent of the warm waffles, cautiously approached. It eyed the plate with suspicion, then let out a hesitant cluck.

One by one, the chicken ate the waffles. But just as Nya was going to gently pick it up, the chicken rebelled and zapped her on the head.

" Nya!" Jay yelled, pushing everyone and everything aside and running to his girlfriend.

" I'm fine, Jay." Nya said softly, stroking her face. " Really."

Jay, through, wasn't convinced. He gently cried her hand off the mark and gasped.

There was a big burn, in the shape of a heart.

" We need to get her in. Now." Jay said, his voice firm with no room for argument.

" Me and Cole will try to catch mister chicken." Kai said, high giving his best friend.

" I will attempt to console and help Jay and Nya. Though, chances are he will shoot me away." Zane said.

Lloyd sighed. " Okay. Here's the plan. The lovebirds will tend Nya. Kai and Cole will catch the chicken. Me and Zane will move the crate and lock the chicken."

" Sounds like a plan." Kai said.

" I love crazy ideas. Let's do it." Cole agreed.

" Affirmative." Zane added.

" Good. Ninja-go!" Lloyd said, and they all took off.
