My sister ( who is a doctor) wanted to write a story. So... Enjoy.

Hi, guys! I've actually never posted my stories anywhere, so I hope you like this.

Just a little about myself ( sorry!)

I'm a doctor, as SOMEONE ahem, looking at you told you guys.

Oh, come ON! They came in here to read, not listen to our shenanigans. Especially yours.

😮‍💨🙄😒😒  I hate you.

Love you too.😘😘

🙄🙄

... Oh, sorry. Here's your story. Thanks for listening to my annoying sister and me, who is completely blameless ( yes, I did that Cole thing there.)
-------------------------------------

Kai was walking down the hall one early morning. He was going to Mia's room. He was going to Mia's room to give her food.

True, Jay's absence lays heavy on everyone, but Mia was a different story. That day, when she regained consciousness before Lloyd, she ran everywhere, yelling for Jay. When she found out he was lost, she shut down.

Now, it was up to Kai to be a replacement Jay.

But that was harder than it sounded.

Somehow, he managed not to yell at her or get heated up.

Anyway, he tiptoed to Mia's room and opened the door.

" Mia, breakfast." He called softly.

No response.

He tried again, louder. " Mia?!"

Silence.

This was bad.

Or, Mia could be asleep.

This might be a good time to get vitals.

He pushed the door open, and peered in.

She was asleep.

He put the tray on her side table and sat on the edge of her bed. She looked peaceful.

Kai inched closer, his hand hovering over Mia's forehead for a moment before gently brushing aside a stray curl. Her breathing was shallow but even, and her cheeks held a faint flush of color. He wasn't sure if it was a good sign or not. Leaning down, he pressed his ear to her chest. The rhythmic thump of her heart, though slow, reassured him. It was a weak but steady beat, like a flickering candle flame.

"Okay, Mia," Kai murmured, his voice barely a whisper. "Let's see what we're working with." He straightened and reached for the tray on the side table.  Lifting a small metal cup filled with water, he brought it to her lips. "Come on, Mia-bird. Just a sip."

He brushed her lips with the cup, willing her to respond. Her eyelids fluttered slightly, but she remained stubbornly asleep.  A bead of sweat trickled down Kai's temple. He wasn't sure what to do next.  Following the protocol Nya had drilled into them all, he pulled out a small medical scanner from his pocket. It was cold against his palm, a stark contrast to the warmth radiating off Mia's body.  With a practiced hand, he ran the scanner across her arm, the soft hum of the device the only sound in the quiet room.

A moment later, a holographic display flickered to life above Mia's hand. Kai squinted at the readout, his brow furrowing in concern. Her vitals were low, bordering on critical.  He cursed under his breath. This wasn't good.  Mia needed more than just food and water.  He needed to get her to Lloyd.

Kai's heart hammered a frantic rhythm against his ribs. Mia's vitals were failing, and panic clawed at his throat. He couldn't lose another friend. Taking a deep breath, he did what he knew best – he used fire.

With a whispered command, a lick of orange flame erupted from his palm, illuminating the worried lines etched on his face. He focused, channeling the heat outwards, not to harm, but to warn. A fiery bird, a phoenix of sorts, took form in the air, its wings crackling with energy. This was a distress signal, a call only the ninja understood.

Suddenly, a booming voice echoed from down the hall, shaking the very walls. "Kai! What's going on?!"

The phoenix flickered, its form dissolving as the door burst open, revealing a soot-covered Cole. Relief washed over Kai, warm and welcome.  "Cole! Thank goodness you're here! It's Mia, she's…" Kai's voice trailed off, replaced by a shaky sigh.

Cole rushed to Mia's bedside, his earthy green eyes scanning her pale face.  "What happened? Did she get hurt?"  He reached out, his calloused fingers brushing against hers tentatively.

Kai explained everything, the fear in Jay's absence, Mia's withdrawal, and the alarming vitals displayed on the medical scanner.  By the time he finished, Cole's face had hardened with concern.

"We need to get her to Lloyd, now," Cole said, his voice firm.  "But just carrying her might be risky."  He glanced at Kai, a spark of understanding passing between them.

Kai nodded, a plan forming in his fiery mind.  "I can create a heat bubble around her. It'll keep her warm and stable as we move."

Cole grinned, a flicker of his old self returning. "Perfect. Let's get this little bird back to her nest."

Together, they worked quickly.  Kai carefully enveloped Mia in a swirling vortex of warm air, mimicking an incubator.  Cole, ever the strongman, scooped her up gently in his arms.

With Kai leading the way, a fiery path illuminating their course, and Cole following close behind, they raced out of the room, determined to reach Lloyd and get the help Mia desperately needed.

The scene was intense. Kai, a human fireball of worry, hovered over Mia's still form. Cole, ever the dependable Earth ninja, stood beside him, a mask of grim determination etched on his face.

Suddenly, a bone-jarring CRASH echoed through the hallway. Dust rained down as a gaping hole appeared in the wall – not from some villainous attack, but from Cole’s mighty fist.

“Uh, Cole?” Kai ventured, voice tight. “Pretty sure the door’s right there, buddy.”

Cole blinked, momentarily confused. “Right. Door. But… efficiency!” He started to punch another hole, but Kai, with surprising reflexes, grabbed his wrist.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Efficiency is great, but Mia needs a doctor, not a demolition crew.” Just then, a high-pitched squeal pierced the air. A figure came hurtling through the newly created hole – Zane, the ever-stoic Nindroid, on a makeshift sled fashioned from a pile of discarded children’s dolls.

The sight was so utterly bizarre that both Kai and Cole forgot about Mia for a moment, their mouths agape. The dolls, a motley crew of princesses and superheroes, bounced crazily behind Zane, their plastic faces frozen in various expressions of terror.

“Did you…” Kai started, voice choked with a mixture of disbelief and amusement.

“…see that?” Cole finished, tears welling up in his eyes from trying not to laugh.

Zane, oblivious to their stunned silence, brought his “sled” to a screeching halt. “Greetings, comrades! I have located a vital medical supply – a first-aid kit, complete with… well, most of the essential supplies.” He gestured to the dolls, now sporting missing limbs and flattened faces.

Kai and Cole burst into laughter, the tension dissolving in the face of pure absurdity. Even Mia stirred slightly, a faint smile playing on her lips.

“Maybe we should stick to traditional entrances, Zane,” Kai wheezed, wiping tears from his eyes.

Zane, ever the literal one, tilted his head. “But traditional entrances lack a certain… je ne sais quoi.”

Cole snorted. “Yeah, understatement of the century.”

" Right. Now, I see- is that Mia?!" Zane exclaimed, peering over Kai's bubble.

Kai nodded. " We need to get him to Lloyd. Now."
