" Promise me, Jay." Their mom said. " Promise me you will always look out for your sister, and help others."

Jay nodded, tears in his eyes. " I... I prom... mise."

That promise, though years old, held a special place in Mia's heart.

But standing in front of Jay, in a pit match against her own brother, seemed.... wrong.

" Uh, Roby?" Mia called. " I think there's a mistake."

Roby raised a brow. " Why?"

" Because he's my brother?"

Roby looked more confused. " Wait what?"

Mia turned to the crowd, and spotted Mr. Pale.

" Mister Pale?" Mia yelled. " Is Jay my brother or not?"

Mr Pale nodded. " Yeah, unless you're an alien."

Mia slapped her head, then turned back. " See?"

Then, Mia noticed something. Jay's lightning.... had yellow.

" Wait, Jay? Could you do that again?"

" Do.... what again?"

" Your lightning."

Jay looked confused but compiled.

Mia took a sharp breath. " Oh no."

She looked at the gong. " Oh, no no no no no no no no."

" Mia?" Nya asked.

Mia turned to Nya, her eyes full of worry. " He's been corrupted!

 " He's been corrupted!"

Everyone gasped.

" What do you mean, ' corrupted'?" Lloyd asked, alarmed.

Mia turned to Jay. " How much has he been using that gong?"

" Why should I tell you?" Jay looked smug.

" Because if you don't I'll make you walk on a rickety bridge hanging on threads."

Jay's eyes widened, but he quickly regained his composure. " Fine. I'll tell you. But answer me this- how did you know?!"

Mia smiled mischievously. " It'll make sense later, broseph."

" ' Broseph'? I'm not your brother!"

Mia shook her head. " Answer the question."

" Uh.... all of or just on me?"

" On you!" Mia's patience was wearing thin.

" About five times."

Mia's breath hitched, and she backed away. " No. No. NO! HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED?!"
