Mia sighed, relaxing in her beanbag chair. Nelson did the same.

"You know, spending a day here with the pups was a great idea!" Nelson said, petting Zuma.

"Yep, it is. But knowing my brother, he's gonna call every ten seconds."

As if to prove her point, Jay called.

Again.

"Are you SURE you guys will be fine? I mean, we're not too far, so we could come to give you something....."

"Jay, your sister is fine with us. You have our word," Chase said, stepping up to Mia.

"May I have the phone?" Mia asked sweetly.

Then, into it, she said, "Jay Elizabeth Walker, you are going to stay right where you are, cuddle with Nya, ask Blackie to give you some sassy talking about random things, and you are going to ENJOY it."

Jay sputtered on the other end, "Mia, I just want to make sure-"

"Nope! No more worrying. Just relax. We've got everything under control," Mia insisted.

Jay sighed. "Alright, alright. But if you need anything-"

"Bye, Jay!" Mia said, hanging up and handing the phone back to Chase.

Nelson chuckled. "You know, he's just looking out for you."

"I know," Mia said, smiling. "But sometimes he forgets I can handle myself."

"Well, at least he's persistent," Nelson said, leaning back and closing his eyes.

"True," Mia agreed, petting Zuma. "But it's nice to have some time away from all the chaos."

Suddenly, the peaceful moment was shattered by a loud crash. Mia and Nelson jumped up as the ground shook beneath them. Dust and debris filled the air, and they could hear the unmistakable sound of collapsing rubble.

"What the-" Nelson started, but Mia was already on her feet, scanning the area for the source of the disturbance.

"Over there!" she pointed, spotting a building that had partially collapsed.

The pups barked in alarm, running around in confusion.

"Stay here and keep the pups safe," Mia instructed Nelson. "I'm going to check it out."

"No way, I'm coming with you," Nelson insisted, grabbing his gear.

Mia didn't argue. Together, they rushed towards the source of the destruction. As they got closer, they could see that a significant portion of the building had crumbled, and people were trapped inside, calling for help.

"We need to get them out," Mia said, her voice filled with urgency.

Nelson nodded. "I'll start clearing the rubble from the entrance. Can you use your powers to stabilize the structure?"

"On it," Mia said, her eyes narrowing in concentration.

She summoned the wind, directing it to support the remaining parts of the building that were teetering on the brink of collapse. The wind formed a protective barrier, holding up the weakened walls and ceiling.

Nelson worked quickly, using his strength to move large chunks of debris out of the way. They could hear cries for help getting louder as they made progress.

"Mia, over here!" Nelson called, uncovering a small group of people huddled together under a desk.

Mia directed the wind to gently lift the remaining debris, allowing Nelson to pull the people to safety.
