Rumi buried her head in her lap. Today was not her favorite day.
Today was her check up, and Rumi did not like those.
Just then, she heard the door open. " Rumi?"
Rumi looked up to see a boy in a green gi, wearing a coat. His hair was as moppy as ever. ( I have no other way of describing it).
As their eyes met, Rumi buried deeper.
Within seconds she felt arms around her. Without a second thought, she plunged her face into his gi, taking in the detergent and stuff.
" How's my favorite girl doing?" Lloyd asked.
Rumi, still taking in the scent, replied, " I'm your only favorite girl."
Lloyd rolled his eyes. " It's supposed to make you feel better."
" Well, it's not." Rumi stated.
Lloyd sighed, stroking her hair. " I know you don't like these. But you're stronger than you know."
" Right. So strong I almost killed my love of my life and his friends. And recruited Garmadon. AND had the nerves to do a bunch of other things."
Lloyd pulled apart and gave her a half stern half comforting look. " What did we talk about?"
" Letting go."
"Yes," Lloyd said. He then tried to lighten the mood and added, "Your dress is pretty."
Rumi looked up at him with a small, skeptical smile. "You saw it an hour ago."
Lloyd shrugged, a playful glint in his eye. "Lots of things can change in an hour."
Rumi rolled her eyes. "My name is still Rumi, yours is Lloyd, and your dad is still Garmadon."
Lloyd chuckled. "Fair point. But maybe it's about how you feel in the dress. You know, confidence and all that."
Rumi sighed, a tiny smile tugging at the corners of her mouth despite her best efforts to stay serious. "Well, I still don't feel any more confident."
Lloyd's expression softened as he took her hand gently. "Confidence doesn't always come easy, but you're stronger than you think, Rumi. And you don't have to face everything alone. You've got me, and you've got the rest of the team."
