'Okay ..okay... sorry...It was my fault that I didn't tell you about my entire plan beforehand.... sorry..'

We escaped from that God forsaken village just in the nick of time. Fortunately no one was left behind and right now we are travelling in two cars. Me, New, Aunty, Luke and two guards are in Aunty's seven sitters and others in the next one.

One guard was driving the car and the other one was sitting in the rear seat. Luke was in the passenger seat and New, me and aunty were in the middle.

That explosion which shook the whole village has ruined the temple completely. The men who were lighting up those firecrackers said one of those shells didn't go off properly and fell near the temple's wooden gate which was already soaked in alcohol.

Yes, right where I threw the bottle.

The gate caught fire in no time and one led to another.....the heap of firecrackers went off altogether.

Everybody was trying to save their houses because the night was windy and the fire started to spread quickly.

So ultimately.....I did become the reason for their destruction. The prophecy came true.

In the near future someone from the Wachanit family will be the reason for their downfall.

I couldn't stop smiling.

'I was against this ceremony from the beginning but you didn't listen to me and after that without telling a word to me you were planning to stay there risking your life. Are my words worth nothing to you?'

'Don't get angry na.... please...mom...!'

'Because I am not your own mother, you do not give any importance to my words.'

'Mom!' New frowned, his eyes were tired.

'Madam...' Luke tried to calm her down.

'Why? Did I say something wrong? If I was his own mother, could he leave me behind and stay there like this? Does he not know the consequences of his decision? Do you think that boy let him live? What would I do if something happened to him?' Her eyes were red and constant tears were streaming down heavily.

'Aunty....' I know she was right but New was too weak to get scolded.

'Not Aunty....she is your mom...that pendant is yours. Mrs Jones just gave it back to you. But I think you already guessed....' Suddenly New gave me a wink.

You brat! Still trying to make jokes!

'Aunty.... Please don't cry....' I glared at him and tried to calm her down. I don't want to talk to him right now because I am super mad at him.

'Tay.....' But New wasn't serious at all.

'You shut up. I have a lot to settle with you but I don't want to do that right now. So just sit there quietly.' I gritted my teeth.

'Great! Now you two mother-son are ganging up on me.....wow! Luke, now I only have you.' He put his hand on Luke's shoulder and patted it slightly.

'Mn.' Luke gave a light nod.

'What "mn"? Don't encourage him!' I just wanted to slap his hand away.

'He didn't do all this for himself! He did this for you! Do you even have the right to be mad at him?' Luke looked at me through the rear view mirror.
