Some call it's madness but I call it love

'Careful.....step on that boulder....yes....now there.....good....'

It's already dark and we are travelling through the jungle. Our destination is the Fire cave.

New's fever has gone down a notch but his leg is not in a good shape. Surprisingly my knees are better now. That medicine was really effective.

'No one came looking for us. Did we just waste the morning?' I asked in a low voice.

'They didn't come directly here but that doesn't mean they weren't watching the area.'

'What do you mean?'

'When we were resting on the tree they were near the stream looking for us.'

'Huh!'

'They didn't come up, only searching the area where we stopped before. Then they left.'

'When was that?'

'When we were resting. You fell asleep for a while.'

'What if I accidentally make some noise! You should have woken me up..'

'You were tired. How could I wake up a sleeping panda?'

'Now I am a panda? Wasn't I a dog not a long ago?'

'Have you seen your face? Those dark circles really resemble a panda.'

'I am not a panda.'

'My handsome panda.'

'Watch your steps and stop talking. Someone might hear you.'

'They won't come here at this hour. Not only is this area treacherous, those guys are extremely superstitious. They firmly believed that this mountain is haunted.'

'Still, we need to be careful.'

'You just don't like to be called panda that's all.' He laughed mischievously.

'Is your fever back?' He is talking too much.

'Mn. I guess so.'

'Let me check.'

'Just keep walking. I think we are already very close to that cave.'

'Really?'

We were walking for quite some time and I was concerned about New's health. He was acting as if nothing happened but I know he is not feeling well. That's why he is so talkative. He is trying to hide his condition by acting normal.

'Wait.' Suddenly he grabbed the corner of my shirt.

'Hm?'

'Did you hear that?'

'Hear what?'

'Sound of a waterfall.'

I heard a faint sound of water falling from a height.

'The source of that stream we were following before. The cave is right beside it.' New took the lead and in a minute we came in contact with water droplets.

I opened my mobile torch light and saw a waterfall. It's nothing grand but still very beautiful.

'Thankfully we don't have to cross the stream. The cave is just behind those vines.' New took the phone from my hand and pointed towards an extremely narrow passage.

'You wait here. I am going to check the inside first.' I handed him the bag and helped him stand near a big tree trunk for support.

'Let's go together. What if there's some wild animals or...... something...'

'I'll be careful. You just stay here okay?'

'But....'

I didn't wait for his objection and walked forward. The mobile torch wasn't very bright but using its light I inspected the inside. It's not very deep and the floor is filled with dry leaves and twigs. It's a perfect hiding place. We just need to be here for another day at most.
