Two weeks after that fateful day I got discharged from the hospital. Pa was, as expected, angry with me so wasn't talking much but that didn't mean he wasn't paying attention. He completed all the necessary paperwork and we came back to our temporary rented house in the evening.

This house is situated near the river and surrounded by a beautiful landscape, the location is very dreamy as it is full of positive energy and freshness of the water. The morning breeze and nighttime are very nice.

The river flows in downwards and gives a picture of the scenic beauty of the place. In the afternoon the house is lit by the reflection of the sun by the water. The place is free from traffic and crowded streets. I like it very much.

The house is big and made of wood and is massively firm inside. The rooms are large. It seems to be recently made as it has the smell of fresh wood. My room is in the furthest corner and the view is ethereal.

I wanted to buy this house and make it my permanent home but pa was against it.

If one day I get the chance to stay in this house with New.......

Ann was staying with us much to my dismay. But I didn't say anything because she isn't going to stay for long so it doesn't matter.

'Aunty, let me make curry for Tay.' She was helping me unpack my things.

'You don't have to do that darling, tell the cook....' Ma smiled at her.

'No Aunty, I want to.' She was determined to impress me. I sighed inwardly. I don't need you to impress me, I have already told you my real feelings but you are not ready to give up.

'Then asked the cook to help you.' Ma didn't argue anymore.

'Yeah.' She left happily.

I overheard this conversation when returning from the toilet. I silently went to my room and lay down on the bed. I needed some planning to do.

First, I need to meet New again. If possible alone.

Second, I need more information about his family.

Third, I am going to call Phuong. He is going to be my informer.

Fourth .....

'Tay?' I was so deep in thought that I didn't see her entering the room.

'Yes ma?' I fixed my mood quickly.

'Time for your medicine darling.' Her hand was full of boxes.

I sat up and took everything she gave me obediently. I am in a hurry to get well soon.

'Dinner will be ready soon. But if you are hungry I can cut some fruits for you.'

'I am not hungry ma.' I looked at her tired eyes and felt guilty. She was looking after me all this time without much rest.

'Then do you need anything else?' She was organising the medicine box.

'My phone. Where is it?'

'Ah. It's in my room. Let me get that for you.'

'Ma?' I grabbed her hand before she could move.

'Mn?' She turned around and gave me a curious glance.

'Is pa still angry with me?' I asked with a small voice.

'He is not angry Tay.....he is worried.' She sat down beside me and patted my hand which was still gripping her delicate fingers. The funny thing is that whenever I hold her hand, a warm feeling in my heart says that everything is going to be alright. She is like a pillar for me, supporting and encouraging me silently.
