'Did you forget already? Why did I give you my number?'

'I didn't forget. But....'

'How's your mother?'

'She's doing alright.'

'When are you going back?'

'I am not going anywhere.'

'What about your mother's health check up? You are going to let your father do all the hard work?'

'Pa is going back because of some urgent work but ma is gonna stay here with me.'

'Are you sure that your father can handle everything alone there?'

'What do you mean?'

'I think you should go back with him. His company is not doing well.'

'It's just some minor hitch, happens all the time.'

'Then I guess your father didn't tell you.'

'What are you talking about?'

'One major investor wants to withdraw his support.'

'What!'

'That's what I heard when I went to visit the embassy today. He was there.'

'You met pa!'

'No. I was there to sign some papers regarding me leaving the city. and he was there to visit the secretary. I heard him talking over the phone.'

'Pa didn't tell me anything......'

'Go back home with your parents. The situation is still salvageable. Help your father. I am going out of town for a few days on vacation. My phone will be out of reach...'

'You want me to go back?'

'Mn.'

'Are you behind the situation in Pa's company?'

'If you say so.'

'You are so determined to send me back......if I leave this country will everything be normal at his company?'

'Mn.'

'You are really something!'

'I am telling you from the start.'

'Fine. I'll go back.'

'Mn.'

'Don't you have anything to say to me?'

'Goodbye. Have a safe flight.'

'..........Thanks and sorry.... for wasting so much of your time.'

I hung up and sat there for a long time. Then after sorting out my thoughts I went to my parents' room.

'Pa?'

'Yeah?' Pa was busy packing his bag, ma was helping him.

'I want to go back too.'

'That's great! Then let me book two more tickets.' Pa looked at ma who looked at me and smiled.

'Are you sure darling?'

'Yes ma. But I have a request.....'

'What is it darling?' Ma patted my hand.

'You two go back first, I will join you after two weeks.'

'So you are staying here for another two weeks?'
