Chapter 7

(land)

While continuing running on land the sky suddenly got so bright Keith stopped to cover his eyes to look at the sky seeing five fire tornadoes rushing towards the ground before a rush of dust passed him from the attack impact.

Keith (in his mind after the dust disappears): That attack looks close so (started running) it must be near Anna's location.

(open field)

Anna (in her mind having her fire sword disappear after pulling it out from the lying down shadow bird that slowly disappears): Dam. I'm still not used to the transformation.

Keith (from a distance behind): Anna!

When Anna turned around Keith saw her having cat ears and wearing a black ankle-length corset dress that had a split in the middle of the skirt showing her legs a bit, no sleeves, an open back and black chest armour that had three baby pink lozenge diamond in the middle with a baby pink edge outline. Black long gloves that hook around her middle finger with the front side having black armour with a baby pink edge outline. Black short leggings and black boots that have short heels with black armour and baby pink edge outline.

Anna (in her mind): What's Keith doing (after her vision started to get fuzzy) here?

Keith (catches Anna on one knee after teleporting when she leans to the side): I got you.

Aura particles started leaking out of Anna returning her appearance and outfit to her original form but when Keith looked at her injured arm he saw blood holes that had some black dots while other parts had the holes covered in black.

Keith (in his mind while wrapping Anna's arm in a bandage after ripping her sleeves off): I'll ask Jack about these black things on Anna's arm. (standing after putting Anna on her back) Time to get you home.

(next day base Jack office)

Jack (after Keith enters): Thanks for coming. (while Keith closes the door) Hows Anna?

Keith (walking to the chair before sitting): She's in the medical room asleep. Anna's right arm is injured but the medics were able to treat it.

Jack: I got a message that said Anna's arm was temporarily treated because they noticed magic was holding the two separate hones on her shoulder.

Keith: The shadow realm is so different from what I expected.

Jack: Just be careful. Those shadow monsters are stronger in their own realm. By the way, how did you get there?

Keith: After getting everyone back to the base. I pretended to be off guard and got captured. I then found a shadow monster and threatened them to send me back after getting Anna. Of course, before leaving I killed that other shadow creature.

Jack: That's one way to travel between the two realms.

Keith (just remembering): I forgot to mention that Anna has some black marks on her arm. What are they?

Jack: We call that shadow poison.

Keith (confused): Shadow poison?

Jack: They don't look deadly but when they spread to your heart they will immediately kill you. However, it can also make you weak before coming to your death.

Keith (standing while slamming his hand on Jack's desk): What about Anna?!

Jack: Calm down. What you saw would barely affect her and thanks to you Anna was able to be treated in time.

Keith (after sighing): Thank goodness. You made me worry. (in his mind) I would ask about that form she was in but it's best to ask Anna.

Jack: You look like a strict person because of your voice but you're very caring about other people, especially towards us humans.

Keith: To be honest after accepting your request I didn't think of you as humans. Instead, I thought of you as comrades.

Jack (curious): On day one you thought of us as comrades?

Keith: Well while Anna introduced me to her team she called me a being instead of calling me a demon. It surprised me how her squad listened to me when Anna was captured.

Jack (leaning on his chair): Anna's speech has a type of power to bring people together. What did you feel?

Keith: At that moment I felt trust between her and me. I also did sense that Anna was being honest and open-minded.

Jack: That's the reason why her squad put all their trust and pride in her. However, I'm sorry about that soldier who was being rude to you.

Keith: Anna dealt with it and she's a bit scary when she's mad.

Jack (smiling): I watch the whole thing. Anna may be sweet and open-minded but her angry aura shows people that no one should mess with her.

Keith: I agree.

Jack (after the screen appears in front of him): Anna just woke up. Why not go see her?

Keith: I was planning to wait for her to wake up but we had to have this conversation.

Jack: I understand. (after Keith started walking off) Make sure you both rest.

Keith (look at Jack after opening the door): Roger that captain.

(sunset medical private room)

Keith (looks at Anna after entering): I'm surprised you're awake.

Anna (leaning on the wall having her coat off and eyes closed): How long was I asleep?

Keith (sitting on a chair near the bed): After taking you out from the shadow realm yesterday it was sunset. So it's been a whole day.

Anna (looking at Keith): Thank you for saving me.

Keith: You're welcome. (curious) Why are your eyes closed you are in a private room.

Anna: I'm just used to having them close while in the base.

Lilly (after knocking on the door): Second lieutenant are you in there?

(hallway outside door)

Keith (after opening the door): Is there something you need?

Lilly (showing a black ribbon): When the first lieutenant wakes up. Can you give this to her?

Keith (while taking the black ribbon): Where did you find it?

Lilly: That's not the blindfold she wore the other day. Since the lieutenant always loses her blindfold the squad brought a bag of them so I got that from her room.

Keith: Is it okay for a soldier to enter a lieutenant's room?

Lily: Normally not but the lieutenant allows me because she knows I only enter to give her reports or get her blindfold.

Keith: I see. Thank you for bringing this to us.

Lilly (saluting): You're welcome.
