Chapter 12

Jack (walking towards them): Watch what you say. He's a comrade so never call him a demon. It's second lieutenant Keith to you.

Soldiers one and two (saluting: Yes sir. We'll remember that and tell everyone else.

Jack (while turning around): Thank you. (in his mind when he started walking away) You should be able to get more respect from people below you Keith.

(Forest)

Keith (see Anna put the sunglasses away): Now I get why you took those out.

Anna: This is my car.

Keith (shock): No way.

Anna: I didn't buy it. The captain got it for me so I could head into town.

Keith: Don't you like going into town?

Amma: It's not that. (face expression change) There are just things I can't do now that I did in the past.

Keith (looking forward): Like picking your own food?

Anna: Yeah.

Keith: Can I ask about yesterday?

Anna (after sighing): It's nothing big I just saw something.

Keith (look at Anna): Do you remember what that thing looks like?

Anna: It looks like the other form you saw me in. However, yesterday was the second time I saw it.

Keith (look at the window near him): Thank you for telling me.

Anna: Keith we're almost there.

Keith (looks ahead): So that's what a human town looks like.

Anna: You don't sound surprised.

Keith: The human realm and the demon realm look the same almost.

Anna: Is it cool to head to the clothes shop first?

Keith: Is there a reason why you want to head there first?

Anna: Normally we don't wear our uniforms outside the base.

Keith: Then let's head there first.

(town street)

Anna (walking wearing her blindfold and uchikatsugi hat): Are you sure you're comfortable wearing that?

Keith (holding two brown bags): I am. You have good taste.

Keith wearing a jungle green shirt with no sleeves, a black coat with middle-length sleeves, black trousers, black plimsols and his hair in a loose down ponytail using a black ribbon.

Anna: Once you're used to wearing how we human dress then you'll find your own taste of fashion.

Keith: You sure you're alright wearing your blindfold and hat?

Anna: Yeah. It helps...

Suddenly a strong wind blew by making Anna's hat fly off but Keith was able to grab it while the wind returned to normal.

Keith (looks at Anna): You're very prepared.

Anna (after she felt Keith put the hat on her head): Thank you for getting my hat.

Keith: So where are we heading next?

Anna (lift one side of her blindfold): I want to have a chat while we eat. So I'm taking you to a good food place.

(restaurant second-floor private room)

Keith (after Anna enters): What is this?

Anna (while taking her hat off): I booked this room while you were changing.

Keith (after they both sat down): Did you come here before?

Anna (while removing her blindfold): Only once. The person who I came with told me this place sells balanced food.

Keith: I can't wait to give their food a try. (after seeing Anna open her eyes) I thought you were going to keep your eyes closed.

Anna: Leave me alone.

Keith: I'm not being rude. It's nice that you decided to change.

Anna (blushed a bit while looking away): That's because I trust you. (after clearing her voice) By the way, can you tell me what your magic is?

Keith: I'm a lightning magic user but after waking up I was able to use ice magic during the recent battle.

Anna (surprise): Do you have any clue how you obtain ice magic?

Keith: I think my friend's aura fuse with mine giving me a second element. However, I'm curious about your magic aura. It's a bit stronger than the humans but weaker than a demon.

Anna: It's these eyes. After obtaining them everything about me changed a bit.

Keith: What do you mean by everything?

Anna: My physical ability, magic stamina and senses have gotten better so suddenly it scared me. Before I was just a wind magic user but these eyes gave me the element of fire and a side skill called psychic.

Keith: I've never seen a human use psychic magic.

Anna (made the candle flame move): It's rare for humans but a few demon races have this magic.

Keith (see the flame return to the candle): Yours must be strong to move an element.

Anna: If it was someone else magic I would struggle. I rarely use it so I don't have a mastery over that.

Keith: I'm surprised you're this good. (after hearing Anna's stomach growl) I think we should order food.

Anna (looking at the menu while covering her face): Good idea. I'm hungry.

(Sunset Beach)

Anna (after stretching her arm): After a good meal it feels nice being somewhere quiet.

Keith (near the sea looking at Anna): You sure you won't get caught?

Anna (walking to Keith): I sneaked out here so many times and never got caught.

Keith: I'm surprised you sneak out.

Anna: I used to come here when I was sad or when I couldn't sleep. However, Jack caught me but told me to be careful.

Keith: Isn't the beach a bit far from the base?
