Journey of the Last Demon and the Female Lieutenant

Chapter 48

Yurei (while appearing): Lord Keith I need you to head back to the base.

Keith (at the same time his katana disappears): Is it something to do with Anna?

Yurei (surprise): How did you know?

Keith (started walking while Yurei followed): I had a feeling she wouldn't stay still.

Yurei: Understandable but the other reason was because the captain barrier broke allowing the enemies to enter the base.

Keith: Do what you can to protect the injured. (lightning sparks appear) I'll be there soon.

Yurei (before disappearing when Keith is about to run): Yes milord.

(inside the base)

Anna (in her mind while attacking different shadow creatures): These monsters (block an attack from behind having her hair come undone after immediately turning when she stops) are tough. They still go down easily but they're now starting to work together because of the Shadow King.

After breaking the block Anna used her speed to unleash two slashes making the monster in front of her disappear. However, Anna suddenly got dizzy making  her look down trying to regain her focus.

Anna (in her mind while the dizziness fades away): Please body last a bit longer.

Sabrina (in Anna's mind): Anna watch out.

Anna (sees a blade about to reach her when she looks forward): It's too late. (after a strike of lightning from the sky appears killing that shadow monster) That must be...

Sabrina (interrupting): More coming.

Anna's eyes glow a bit making a wind tornado appear sending ten shadow creatures into the air before another lightning strike landed near her but they multiplied from the ground to kill the floating enemies.

Anna (look at Keith while he stands after being on one knee once the tornado disappears): Thanks for the save.

Keith (holding his lance): Just be more careful. (in Anna's mind while they attack incoming shadow creatures) Why are you using your demon eyes?

Anna (in Keith's mind): I'm not actually using them. I'm still using my normal eyes but I'm tricking everyone else to make them think I am using those eyes.

Keith (after they both turn around to cover each other backs by killing the next incoming monsters): Not a bad idea.

Suddenly they both look up seeing shadow spikes falling towards them so Keith quickly grabs Anna by the hip to have them both disappear at the last second.

(wall roof)

Sabrina (in their mind after they appear): Holding up okay Anna?

Anna (exhausted): Yeah but if this continues I won't be able to fight for long.

Keith: You thought of a plan?

Anna (looking at Keith): I do but I need some of your blood.

Keith: Do what you have to do. I'll make sure to keep you safe.

Anna bit Keith's neck before she started to drink his blood while with one arm he picked her up. From both sides shadow creatures appear from the ground so he changes his lance into a sword to make it easier to balance his attacks while using ice magic to stop the monsters that get close to them.

Anna (in Keith's mind while he fights): I'm going to use all the magic strength I have to gather and kill all the shadow monsters with one hit but I will need help for the finishing blow.

Keith (in Anna's mind): When will I know?

Anna: Just trust your instincts.

Keith (after killing the last shadow creatures): Alright.

Anna (after she stops drinking Keith's blood): The plan begins now.

After putting Anna down they both looked at each other before jumping off the wall. Anna jumps towards the sky while Keith lands on the ground. Once Anna had some distance her body glowed so bright it almost made every soldier and Yoruichi cover their eyes seeing Anna change into her demon eyes form having her wings out when the glow dimmed.

(Yoruichi office)

Yoruichi (surprised while standing in front of windows): Is that Lieutenant Anna?

(fighting area)

Keith (after quickly killing the shadow monsters who were about to finish some soldiers): Everyone get inside now.

Lieutenant two: Why?

Keith (look at Lieutenant two): We have a plan but I need everyone to evacuate the area.

(air)

Sabrina (in Anna's mind while she sees the soldier running inside different buildings): Nervous?

Anna (while the wind blows): A bit.

Sabrina: Remember Keith has your back so it's impossible to fail.

Anna (while lifting her right arm forward): Right but don't forget you also won't let anything fail either.

Sabrina (after laughing a bit): How?

Anna (while her eyes glow a bit): During these times I know your eyes are helping me stabilise my low level of magic.

A giant wind symbol appears on the ground making a huge tornado appear gathering every shadow monster. While Keith watched from the wall he made a lightning symbol appear on his hand and threw it to Anna. Once Anna caught Keith's symbol with her right hand she made a fire symbol appear on her left hand to put her hands together fusing the symbols to release a combine elemental beam to kill everything in the tornado.

Sabrina (while the tornado disappear): You did it, Anna.

Suddenly Anna fell while turning back into her normal form but Keith caught her before teleporting to appear where he was standing.

(top of the wall)

Keith (in his mind being on one knee holding Anna's upper body seeing her asleep): A little warning would help before passing out.

Sabrina (in Keith's mind while he picks Anna up): I think she couldn't because of the amount of power I sensed when she used both symbols together.

Keith (while walking): You have a point. Let's get Anna back to her room.

Sabrina: Good idea. She'll get worse again if Anna sleeps out here.

(Yoruichi office)

Yoruichi (in her mind while going to her desk): I had a feeling you two were holding a secret but I can't blame them since it's hard to find people you can trust. However, in this war, I hope they can tell me and the other captains so we can at least have some fighting chance.
