Chapter 41

Anna (yelling from a distance): Sabrina!

Keith (after catching Anna): Got you.

Sabrina (in their mind): Nice catch.

Anna: Don't say that. You pushed me. (while her fire aura appears) It's so cold down here.

Keith (puts Anna down while Yurei appears next to him): Then we shouldn't stay here for long. (everyone looks at the meteor) So how should we destroy it?

Yurei: Well I can't see anything that looks off.

Anna: I don't sense anything either.

Keith (stepping forward): Leave this to me.

Keith's eyes glow a bit having an orb appear on one of his hands but it releases a few sparks before unleashing the stored-up power that became a beam targeting the meteor. However, his attack hit an invisible barrier making the beam disappear before soonly release that beam back at Keith sending him to hit the wall.

Anna (look at Keith before sneezing): You alright?

Keith (leaning on the wall having one eye open): Yeah.

Sabrina (while Keith stands): That must have hurt.

Keith: If I used the amount of power I was going to use then I would be knocked out. So it's a good thing I hold back.

Yurei: This won't be easy. An invisible barrier that sent back the owner's attack.

Sabrina: Why not leave this to Anna?

Keith: No. I don't even think she has enough strength to last in this temperature.

Yurei: Then maybe you should head back.

Sabrina: Or let Anna drink your blood.

Anna (after sneezing): Why do I need to drink his blood?

Sabrina: Even though you drink blood to stop the thirst. It can also restore some of your magic.

Anna (after sighing): You want me to use that ability?

Sabrina (smiling): I'm happy that you caught what I'm thinking.

Keith: Can you explain before deciding to give you some of my blood?

Anna: I don't know when I got this ability but my aura can destroy any type of barrier and thanks to that ability I was able to seal half of the demon eye amount of aura into the outfit. However, after regaining my normal eyes I remove the seal.

Keith (after remembering): Because you always had it activated.

Anna: Correct. In the condition I'm in now I won't know what will happen after breaking through the barrier in the demon eye form. So try not to panic.

Keith (while pulling his sleeve up): Take how much you need.

Anna took Keith's arm and started drinking his blood. Keith soon felt his strength being drained so his eyes glowed a bit giving Anna a bit more strength through his blood.

Anna (look at Keith with her demon eyes after letting go of his arm when she just opened her eyes): Thank you and sorry.

Keith (pats Anna's head): As long as I can stand on my own two feet there's no need to apologise.

After Anna smiles she turns around to take a deep breath before her eyes glow changing into the demon-form outfit. Once Anna's sword appears in her hand her eyes glow releasing a strong aura while transferring her aura slowly into her sword.

Sabrina (in Keith's mind while Anna's blade became a beam blade): Did you do something to your blood?

Keith (in his mind while Anna raised her sword): I gave her a bit of my aura without her knowing. I guess she's putting everything into her attack.

When Anna's arms are above her head the blade opens extending the length of the blade before she unleashes a vertical slash but once her blade hits the invisible barrier the clash releases a strong force of wind. The barrier soon started cracking but because of the light, no one could see Anna change into her second form. Thanks to that change she was able to break through the barrier releasing a powerful slash that split the meteor into pieces.

Anna (in her mind notices her hair colour after the explosion light disappears): Did my desire for more power change my form on its own? (falls back while feeling light on her feet) Oh no. I'm blacking out.

Keith and Sabrina (when Anna was about to close her eyes): Anna!

(Night Sunset Town Hotel Anna room)

Anna (in her mind after opening her eyes brings in bed without her cloak, boots and gloves on): I'm back at the hotel. (while sitting up) That second form must have taken the last amount of strength I had to stay awake.

Keith (opens the door without his gloves and cloak when Anna sneezes): You're awake.

Anna (Keith walks to her after coughing): Why do you sound so surprised?

Keith (sitting on a chair near the bed): Because you have a fever.

Anna: I'm used to it. My body may adapt to my sickly body but I still get stuck in bed.

Keith: Sickly body?

Anna: After joining Jack's base I mainly spend my days at the base because I get sick easily after any battle. I may be strong and skillful but my body couldn't keep up. However, after getting the demon eyes I've gotten better but the winter season still hit me hard.

Keith (in his mind): No wonder the team was always watching you.

Anna: Becoming a half-demon made me think my illness was gone but after what happened today I see nothing has changed.

Keith: I can see why you didn't want to tell me. (after thinking) I know you should be resting but can you tell me who Shoto is?

Anna: Where did you hear that name?

Keith: You said his name when you passed out after losing your mind.

Anna: I guess I can't avoid telling you about him. Shoto is the lieutenant I kept telling you about.

Keith: The one who you took their position?

Anna: Yes. He took care of me and made sure I didn't push myself. That's why we got along so well because you're just like him. The reason why I took that hit for you was because it reminded me of the day when Shoto saved me.

Keith (while Anna coughs): Sorry for asking you that question.

Anna (smiling at Keith): It's fine. I'm just happy I was finally able to tell you about Shoto. (remember) By the way what happen after I pass out?

Keith: The meteor broke into pieces so I froze them and recovered the hole. Yurei made a few of his people stay behind to watch over the cave.

Anna: That's a good call. I would subject that too if I was awake.
