Chapter 39

Anna: Don't you have someone to protect the ship?

Captain: Normally we get notice how bad the travel would be and higher adventures. However this time we weren't notified about anything.

Keith (in Anna's mind): It was a surprise attack.

Anna: How far are we from the destination?

Captain: What I remember we just reached over the halfway point of the journey. So it will take us another three days.

Anna: If you see any enemies on your radar please inform us. While we're here we will protect his ship.

Captain (bows his head while Anna and Keith leave): Thank you.

(private room)

Keith (after closing the door): Should we find who's been following us?

Anna (sitting on her bed): Let them continue following us. When we find the person (eyes glow a bit for a second) they're dead.

Keith (sitting on his bed): Let's get some sleep before they attack again.

Anna (Yurei's book appears in her hand): You recharge. I'll be awake for a while. (in her mind looking at Keith) He's asleep. (use her psychic to move the blanket to be on him) He must have wasted more power than he thought.

(three days later Snow Mountain Port deck)

Anna (in her mind while walking out): Been a while since I came here. I forgot how cold it is.

Anna wearing a baby pink top with long loose sleeves that cover the wrist, baby pink gloves with black fluff on the wrist and black leggings. A black cloak that has two straps having baby pink clip buttons and baby pink boots that have flat heels with black underneath, black fluff on the top and three black separate straps in the middle having a hidden clip button on one side.

Keith (walking out while the wind blows): You look worried. Is everything okay?

Keith wearing a jungle green top with long sleeves, black trousers, black gloves with jungle green fluff and black trousers. A black cloak that has two straps having jungle green clip buttons and black boots that have flat heels with jungle green underneath and three jungle green separate straps in the middle having a hidden clip button on the side.

Anna (look at Keith while he ties his hair in a high ponytail): Yeah. (look at the view) I was just remembering the time I was here before.

Keith: Has it been a while?

Anna: I rarely came here during the military because of a hidden reason.

Keith (in his mind): I shouldn't ask any more questions right now.

Anna (starts walking): Keith it's time to come off. (putting her hood on) We're here.

Keith (follows Anna while putting his hood on): Time to get back to business.

(hill being far from a nearby town)

Keith (and Anna on separate horses wearing snow goggles): Finally reach the cave.

Anna (pull her goggles down): From the asking we did around town. I didn't expect the location of the meteor to be this far.

Keith (lift his goggles): Maybe they take a different root that they don't tell travellers. (look at Anna after hearing her sniffle) Are you doing okay?

Anna (riding ahead a little): I'm fine. My nose is a bit stiff from the cold air. We have to be quick before we get notice.

Keith (follow behind): You have a point.

(inside the cave)

Anna (in her mind while walking having the goggles disappear): It's so cold in here.

Keith (look at Anna while walking next to her): I don't sense anything.

Anna (after they stop walking): And this is a dead end.

Keith (when Anna touches the ground on one knee): Found something?

Anna: Do you sense something down there?

Keith: I don't.

Anna: Maybe you can't sense it because it's hidden from demons.

Keith: What do you sense?

Anna: A strong aura. Before I couldn't sense anything but after stopping (fire covered her right fist) I could sense this strong magic aura.

Keith (smoke appears after Anna punches the floor): Hey. Next time hold back your power.

Anna (after coughing): Sorry but I could tell that the ground below us was solid so I wanted to help the area.

Keith (look at the hole once Anna used her wind magic to blow the smoke away): At least we found what we're looking for.

Anna: That's a big meteor.

Suddenly they heard a roar so when they turned around an ice beam was rushing towards them. Anna put her hands out making a beam hit a fire barrier but the ice beam started freezing the barrier. However, at the last second Keith grabs Anna to teleport before ice spikes shoot out from the inside.

(outside cave)

Keith (and Anna hood off after appearing): That was too close. (after hearing Anna sneeze) Maybe we should retreat.

Anna (and Keith see something walking out): I'll be fine. (two swords appear in her hands) At least our injuries heal.

Once Keith summoned his lance the presence of the enemy disappeared but after blinking Anna suddenly saw a shadow sabertooth snow leopard with a snake tail appear in front of her. Anna quickly moved her body to the side making the snow leopard miss its attack. After it landed Keith turned anit-clockwise to unleash a slash but the snow leopard jumped to dodge doing a back flip in mid-air.

Anna (in her mind): This one is way faster than the ones during the military.

Ice spikes appear from the ground so one of Anna's swords opens while Keith's lance opens before Anna releases a fire beam at the same time Keith releases a lightning beam to destroy the wave of ice spikes. However, when their attack was about to reach the snow leopard an ice wall appeared taking their attack. After the smoke appeared the snow leopard jumped out to attack Keith but used his handle to block the bite while being pushed to the ground.

Keith (while holding the snow leopard back): This is getting ridiculous.

With Anna's other sword, the blade separated before unleashing an attack but the snake caught the tip instantly making it freeze. Anna let go of her sword before it reached the handle but the snake quickly charged at Anna.

Anna (in her mind at the same time her right sword close): No you don't.

Anna cut the snake's head off but it immediately grew another head and bit her left shoulder making Anna's nerves freeze inside. However, her eyes turned red but became dull before releasing heat from her body stopping the freeze progress once the snake let go.
