(Forest)

Anna (while walking): How's the connection?

Medic leader (from earpiece): The connection is fine and there's no problem with your trackers.

Keith (next to Anna): Do we have a tracker?

Lilly: The earpiece has a hidden tracking device inside.

Keith: Your technology is so advanced.

Anna: But you adjust so quickly to technology.

Keith (made a gun appear in his hand): I recently discovered how to make this weapon.

Anna (shocked while looking at Keith's gun): When did you learn how to make that?

Keith (while his gun disappears): As you notice I can summon weapons that I make myself. As long as I know how something works making that weapon is easy and I can change its shape. (look at Anna) If you want I can reach you.

Anna (in her mind while touching her sword handle): Summoning weapons?

Medics leader (from earpiece mic): Be on guard. We're getting signs of shadow monsters heading your way.

Ana (everyone pulls out their weapons): Get into your assigned groups.

Suddenly phantoms appeared surrounding Anna's squad before they heard loud footsteps that made the ground shake. Once the phantoms flew away everyone saw a shadow minotaur holding a double edge axe.

Minotaur: Well, well. There's a bunch of humans here for me to play.

Anna (in her mind): I have a bad feeling.

The minotaur unleashed a vertical shadow slash so Anna made a tornado barrier appear blocking the attack but she suddenly fell to her knees dropping her weapons while the barrier disappeared.

Lilly (looks at Anna while holding an assault rifle): Anna.

Keith (holding a lance while seeing the minotaur about to unleash a punch): Everyone moves!

While the squad took cover Keith ran to grab Anna before jumping away towards a tree at the last second. After the minotaur attack landed the vanguard team of three groups charged to attack the monster while the mage squad supported them.

(behind a tree)

Keith (on one knee shaking Anna): Anna snaps out of it. Anna!

Anna (eyes return to normal while leaning on a tree): Keith what happens?

Keith: You tell me. You were suddenly knocked out after blocking that monster attack.

Anna: I know the attack was blocked but it felt like I was cut myself.

Keith: I didn't see any injuries on you.

Anna (after noticing): That's it.

Keith: What did you figure out?

Anna: I think the minotaur weapon is able to damage the user's mind if they block its attack with magic.

Keith: That's not good.

Anna (touches her earpiece): Listen up everyone. From experience the minotaur weapon is dangerous. The vanguard team please try your best to dodge any attacks and the mage team please try not to block every attack for the vanguard squad.

Mage leader (from earpiece): Why?

Anna: You'll get knocked out or you could even die. Because even if you successfully block an attack your mind will make you feel like you got hit yourself.

Mage solder leader: We'll be careful.

Vanguard squad three leaders (from earpiece): Same here.

Anna (notice after teaching for her sword when she stands): Where are my weapons?

Keith (after standing): Sorry I left them behind.

Anna (look at Keith): Don't apologise. You save me after all.

(open field)

While everyone fought it got harder for the mages to shield the vanguard squad because whenever they successfully dodged one attack the minotaur unleashed a second attack making the mages put up a shield.

(a few distances away)

Mage soldier one (after going on its knees): I can't do it anymore.

Mage leader: Get up. (made a barrier appear on a soldier) The vanguard squad still need us.

Mage soldier two (mage leader stands after gong on one knee): But it feels like our brains are going to die. (grab the mage leader collar) Look how many have been knocked out and a few stop breathing.

Mage leader (after pushing the soldier's hand away): Fine. If you wish to stop to take a break then do so but the vanguard unit is losing more of its members than us. Remember who's at the close to death because I know it's not us.

Suddenly a lance was thrown hitting the monster's head before it released a bright light. A mist soon appeared spreading across the field before everyone suddenly heard footsteps passing them. They see Anna jump out of the mist holding two swords to unleash a vertical slash on the minatour front side.

(front line)

Anna (after landing): Everyone reports.

Lilly (from Anna's earpiece): The mage squad is struggling and the vanguards lost a couple of their soldiers.

Keith (a few steps behind after a lightning beam hits the minotaur from above): Then whoever is still alive on the mage squad have them retreat for medical treatment.

Anna (smiling at Keith): Good call. Vanguard squad switch to far-range weapons. I and Keith will deal with the front line.

All soldiers (but the mage squad): Yes mam.

(a few distances away)

Mage leader (looks at Lilly): Lilly why did you do that?

Lilly (touches the mage leader's shoulder): Your team is exhausted and half of them are barely able to stand. I know the squad two commander makes you fight to the death but my commander isn't like that.

Mage leader (look at the fighting seeing bullets and element attacks): Forgive me for second questioning your leader.

Lilly: My team will escort your team to the tower.
