Chapter 8

(inside room)

Anna (while Keith walks towards her): How's everyone?

Keith: The injured soldiers are fine. However, they have to stay in bed for a bit longer.

Anna (notice the blindfold): She brought my blindfold.

Keith (Anna takes the ribbon after passing it to her): I meant to ask. Why does your team know about your eyes?

Anna (Keith sits down while she ties the note): Because they'll mainly see these eyes and the form during battle. Plus they're the first people who saw me lose my eyes.

Keith: Can you tell me about that form? While searching for you your scent changes.

Anna: That form allows me to change into the owner's appearance making me a demon but the more I use it the sooner I'll change.

Keith (while Anna removes the blanket): What do you mean?

Anna (after standing): My blood has already been showing signs of changing. That's the effect of the transformation so I don't use it a lot.

Keith (while Anna put her coat on her shoulder): Shouldn't you stay in bed?

Anna: The doctors already know I'll be fine after waking up. I have been sent to the medical room a lot so they understand why I left.

Keith (standing while Anna walks off): What about your arm?

Anna: After taking the antidot my arm will heal over time thanks to the temporary healing.

Keith (follow behind): What is this antidote? The captain mentioned it before.

Anna (while opening the door): The antidote comes from another base so we have to order them.

(hallway)

Keith (after closing the door): I see. (when Anna put her hand on the wall after she leaned to the side) You alright?

Anna: Yeah. It's just my strength hasn't returned to me.

Keith (walking towards Anna): You need to return to the medical room.

Anna (starts walking): I'll just rest in my room. (after suddenly getting picked up by Keith) What are you doing?

Keith (while walking): I'm going to carry you to your room.

Anna: But me down! I can walk on my own!

Keith (after he stops): If you won't behave then I'll take you to the medical room.

Anna: Don't treat me like a child.

Keith (starts walking again): Then stop acting like a child.

Anna (in her mind leaning her head over Keith's shoulder while blushing after wrapping her arms around his neck): How embarrassing.

(hallway in front of two doors)

Keith (after stopping in front of Anna's door): We're here.

Anna (while Keith put her down): Thank you for bringing me here.

Keith: I forgot to inform you that your swords are getting repaired.

Anna: They didn't even look that bad but thank you for doing that. (after opening her door) Goodnight Keith.

Keith (look at Anna after grabbing his door handle): Goodnight.

(Anna dreams night forest burning area)

Soldier (shaking Anna): Second lieutenant. (see Anna's eyes open) Thank goodness you're awake.

Anna (while sitting up after lying on the floor on her side): What's the situation?

Soldier (while standing with Anna): Everyone trying to retreat but the fire is making it hard to leave.

Anna (rubs her head while her eyes are closed): That's not good.

When Anna opened her eyes she saw a shadow samurai behind the soldier so she pushed the soldier to the side before going to the opposite side. Anna grabbed one of her swords to block a few of the samurai's attacks but when she landed she slipped at the same time the samurai unleashed a horizontal slash. Anna moved her head back but the tip of the enemy katana cut her eyes making Anna wake up.

(Anna's room)

Anna (in her mind having her eyes open after sitting up without her blindfold and coat on having her two buttons undone with the tie loose): It's that dream again.

Keith (outside knocking on the door): Anna. (knocking again) Anna, are you awake?

Anna (standing while feeling weak): Keep the noise down. (in her mind walking towards the door touching her forehead) My head killing me.

(outside door)

Keith (in his mind wearing a black button shirt having two buttons in the middle close with long sleeves and black trousers from his main outfit): What's going on with you today?

After Anna opened the door Keith could tell that her skin looked pale so when he was about to say something Anna leaned forward. When Keith caught Anna he felt her breathing heavy.

Anna (after turning her head and having her eyes open a bit): Sorry about that. I lost my balance.

Keith (after touching Anna's forehead): You burning up. When did you have a fever?

Anna: I don't know. However, when I use that form it makes me feel like this later in the day.

Keith (while picking Anna up): You should have told me that.

Anna (tired while Keith enters her room): I didn't know it was an after-effect. This sometimes happens but I never know why.

(inside Anna's room)

Keith (puts Anna in her bed): The reason you're unwell is because your magic become unbalanced. Just stay here and I'll be back.

Anna (while closing her eyes): Okay.

Keith (in his mind while looking at Anna): I should stay with her tomorrow so she can get better.

(next day during the day)

Lilly (entering with a bowl of water): I'm back second lieutenant.

Keith (wearing his soldier outfit while turning around to be at Anna's desk): Sorry for bothering you.

Lilly: You're not bothering me. (putting the bowel down on a table) I'm happy to help. (while Keith took the dry cloth off Anna's head) I should be thanking you.

Keith (look at Lilly): Isn't it weird for you to thank a demon?
