Chapter 10

(training ground walkway)

Anna (surprised while walking wearing her blindfold and soldier outfit): I'm surprised to see you, captain.

Jack (looking at Anna): I was on my way to see you but got distracted.

Anna (standing next to Jack as they watch Keith spare with the soldiers): As you can see I'm back on my feet.

Jack: And your injury?

Anna: Almost completely healed. Are you sure it's okay for Keith to go up against ten soldiers?

Jack: I've been watching him for three hours. First, he was watching the squad doing their exorcise but when they split into groups to spare Keith noticed one of them was struggling. He went up to that soldier teaching the boy how to counter back. Then the soldiers ask him to do a challenge to beat ten people.

Anna (smiling): I see. However, you fail to tell me Lilly joins them in this challenge.

Jack: Your senses are always sharp. I'm happy that Keith has joined your squad.

Anna: Why's that?

Jack: Out of all the squads you're the most kind and have the best teamwork. Your soldiers accept people from other squads and people who were their enemies. I know at first they just follow your words but over time they trust those people on their own.

Anna: That's why I never force people to like each other. After all, I learn that from the lieutenant before me.

Jack (after touching Anna's shoulder): Good to hear. By the way, I think you should take Keith out tomorrow.

Anna (shock): Why?

Jack: Well for first he's missing a few things so Keith has to go shopping at some point. Also, tomorrow is going to be both of your days off (while walking away so why not get to know more about each other?

Anna (in her mind while seeing Keith winning the match): Why do I feel like Jack planned this?

(middle of the training ground)

Keith (having every soldier line up not having his soldier outfit on without his coat holding a wooden sword): Well done everyone. Go ahead and take a shower before grabbing something to eat.

Every soldier: Yes sir. (bowing) Thank you for the lesson.

Anna (walking over with a towel while the soldiers left): You did great today.

Ketih (turn abit): You saw?

Anna (pass the towel): Is that a problem?

Keith (taking the towel): No. I must have been too focused to notice. (wiping his face) Thanks for bringing my towel.

Anna: Do you have plans for tomorrow?

Keith (after putting the towel on his shoulder): I don't.

Anna: Then would you like me to show you around town?

Keith: There's a town nearby?

Anna: Yeah but we'll have to drive here.

Keith: Wouldn't we get in trouble?

Anna: I guess the captain forgot to inform you that we have a day off tomorrow.

Lilly (walking towards them): Are you two going on a date?

Anna (blushing): Of course not!

Lilly (smiling while standing near them): Then why are you asking him to go into town with you?

Anna (after clearing her voice): Since Keith is lacking clothes I was thinking of showing him what life is like outside the base. This means you're in command tomorrow until I get back. So call me if anything happens.

Lilly: Roger that mam.

Keith: Then I'll wait for you in the hallway.

Anna: Yeah.

Keith (starts walking off): I'll meet you two in the canteen once I'm done taking a wash.

Lilly (after Keith was far away): Now that he's gone. You have to tell me the truth. Was it the captain's idea?

Anna: It was but he didn't force me. Let's say I want to treat him for taking care of me yesterday.

Lilly (starts walking with Anna): Did you see his figure?

Anna: Yeah. I'm surprised he has some muscles but the turtle neck shows his four-pack abs.

Lilly: Why are you so surprised?

Anna: When I saw him wearing his clothes from his time I thought he was skinny because his clothes were a bit loose.

Lilly: Well clothes do hide people's figures.

Anna: True.

Lilly (after they stop): I need to do something before heading to the canteen. (remember) The doctor said to visit his room.

Anna (after sighing): Fine. If you see Keith tell him I'll be late.

Lilly: Okay. (while running odd) See you later.

Anna (in her mind while walking): I just put a fresh bandage on after taking a bath. (after sighing) Always call me at the wrong time.

(medical room)

Doctor (looking at Anna's right arm): Should be healed by tomorrow.

Anna (has her coat off while the doctor bandages her arm): Sometimes I don't know why you call me here.

Doctor: Well someone has to keep an eye on your health.

Anna: I've been fine these past months so there's no need to worry.

Doctor (after flicking Anna's forehead): You're too stubborn. You should be happy I check on you in my free time and let you off skipping your health appointments.

Anna (touch her forehead): Ow.

Doctor (finish tying a knote): There. (while Anna stands putting her coat on) However can you please start coming for your checks up on time?

Anna (back towards the doctor): I'll try.

Doctor (while Anna leaves): Thank you.
