Chapter 20

Keith: He's the friend I mentioned to you and Jack.

Anna (in her mind): That's the person who held the ice together for so long but his aura different from before. Let me fight him.

Keith (watches Anna struggle to stand): Not in your condition.

Anna (grabs Keith's collar): I can't let you fight a friend. I won't...

Keith (Anna let go after she got shocked by his hand) Sorry Anna. (in his mind at the same time he catches Anna when she falls) I was prepared for this if I ever met Sosuke again.

Sosuke (watches Keith walk away while carrying Anna): What you're not going to let that human fight?

Keith (leans Anna on a tree): This is between you and me.

Sosuke (in his mind seeing Keith put a lightning barrier around Anna): What's the deal between you two?

Keith (turns around while summoning his lance): She's my friend.

Sosuke facial expression changes before a shadow mist appear covering the area. From the mist shadow creatures appear one by one holding a sword but when they unleash an attack Keith dodges and blocks the creature's attack before killing them with one attack. However, Keith soon got overwhelmed being taken down by the creatures but he destroyed them by releasing lightning from his body. When Keith stood up he turned around holding his right hand out having a sword stab through.

Keith (while the blade gets covered in ice): Just like before you're always so sneaky while walking through the mist.

Sosuke (holding his slime sword that is covered in Keith ice): So you're the one who stole my magic.

Keith (after Sosuke broke the sword in half): I didn't steal anything.

Sosuke: Liar!

The black mist wrapped around the broken sword forming a new blade while Keith pulled the broken ice blade out of his hand. After picking his lance up he threw the ice blade at Sosuke but when Sosuke blocked the blade broke allowing Keith to get close. However, Sosuke made slime spikes shoot out from underneath his left shoe stabbing Keith's right arm, left hip and left top leg.

Sosuke (blood drops from Keith's head): Not bad but don't forget I'm stronger here.

When Sosuke saw Keith smile a grenade dropped before it exploded. After Sosuke stepped back while coughing Keith rushed towards him to unleash an attack with his lance but Sosuke's body turned into a slime when he was cut. Keith spun his lance before he shoved his lance to the ground making the floor be covered in ice to have spikes appear before lightning spread across from his surroundings to far away.

Sosuke (in his mind while dodging the connection of the lightning through the ice): Now that Keith has ice magic he has become more dangerous.

Suddenly a lightning beam was released so Sosuke made a shadow orb barrier appear blocking the attack while being pushed back. Once the beam disappears the blade on Keith's lance closes before two shadow tigers appear from the shadows. Keith jumped away at the last second throwing his lance on the tiger on the left before turning into a mist to get close to the other tiger. After slamming that tiger's head to the ground he immediately froze its body before it broke on its own.

Keith (in his mind standing while his lance disappears): Dam. These injuries should have stopped bleeding by now.

Sosuke (from behind): What's wrong? Did you run out of strength?

When Keith turned around Sosuke disappeared before multiple slashes appeared ripping his clothes but it destroyed the top half of his coat and turtle neck shirt. Then suddenly a diagonal slash appears on his chest making blood splash out.

Keith (in his mind falling to his knees at the same time his hair came undone): What was that?

Sosuke (appears in front of Keith): That attack must have surprised you. My shadow abilities allow me to teleport to my clone so I can unleash multiple attacks in a split second.

Keith (in his mind after trying to move): Can't move.

Sosuke (eyes glow while raising his sword): This is goodbye old friend.

When Sosuke was about to hit Keith with his vertical slash Anna appeared using her arms to block but she was on one knee.

Sosuke: Get out of the way human.

Anna (struggling): I won't. I won't let you kill a friend.

Keith (after Sosuke kick Anna's stomach): Sosuke don't hurt her.

Sosuke (up close to Anna's face after lifting her chin once she was on her knees): If you were an actual demon then I might have asked you out.

Anna (smiling): I can already tell that you were a nice person like Keith but you are being a big jerk because my guts telling me you're hiding something.

Sosuke slammed Anna's head to the ground thinking that would knock her out but when he looked away Anna opened one of her eyes having them glow to send Sosuke into the air before three fire tornadoes appeared on him.

Anna (in her mind after coughing out a bit of blood when she standing while her armour disappears): It's getting (blood run down the side of her face) hard to stay conscious.

It was fast but to Anna, it was slow at the right moment thanks to her glowing eyes because she saw Sosuke run while looking at Keith seeing his eyes close. However, when Keith opened his eyes he saw Anna standing in front of him before seeing Sosuke having a shocked expression.

Anna (in pain while blood drips from her back): I made it. (while falling to her knees) Thank goodness.

Keith (catches Anna when she leans forward): You idiot. Why did you do that? (in his mind) By the smell of Anna's blood, her injury must be deep.

Anna: I promise Lilly that we will come back to the base alive. Plus this is (voice lowers) what friends do.

Sosuke (while the blade absorbs the blood): Such a shame. She was a skilful fighter.

Keith (lying Anna on the floor): She's not dead and you're talking as if she died when you hurt her.

Sosuke: Well it's your fault this happened to her. You may have my powers but I became stronger than you.

Keith (standing while his aura released): You're only strong because we're in the shadow realm. However, if we ever meet again I wish it could be in the human realm.

Sosuke (lightly tapping his sword on his other hand while taking a few steps back): You should have escaped instead of yapping your mouth.

Keith looks at Sosuke making him sense his bloodlust before fingerless guatless appear on his first. Keith charges at Sosuke unleashing a punch but when Sosuke block a huge force of wind is released before they attack and block each other attacks.
