Chapter 47

(Anna's room)

Sabrina (in their mind while Keith sat Anna on the bed): For some reason it's taking longer for Anna to recover her strength.

Keith (taking Anna's coat off after taking her blindfold off): Do you think it could be the course of her coming back to life?

Sabrina: You might be right because the toll must have been too much for a half-demon. Plus Anna did change into her second form after coming back from the dead.

Anna (while taking her tie off loosening the collar): Why not make me a full demon?

Keith (after putting Anna's coat on a chair): Why would you say that? (look at Anna) You haven't been a half-demon for long.

Anna (look at Keith): At my state, I might not be able to beat a shadow knight.

Sabrina: Why not make Anna a demon lord?

Keith (after sighing): Sabrina you're not helping.

Sabrina: Listen you two have to get stronger to fight the Shadow King in and out of the shadow realm. Keith just has to get used to his new abilities while Anna still has room for improvement.

Keith (starts walking to the door): Sorry but I have to leave.

Anna (after Keith left): Sabrina do you think we're rushing because of what I said?

Sabrina: What you said before you fell asleep made me think. I don't feel like we're rushing but our opponents are getting stronger.

Anna: Because the Shadow King is no longer in Sosuke.

Sabrina: Keith isn't mad. He's worried about your condition and I can tell he doesn't like the new skill you just obtained.

Anna: I'm still shocked that I came back from the dead. (touch her chest) I still remember the feeling of my heart stopping.

Sabrina: Don't overthink about stuff that already happened.

Anna (after sighing): You're right.

(roof)

Keith (in his mind while the wind blows): That vampire skill worries me. Anna definitely stopped breathing but I think Sabrina unlocked that kill right before her heart completely stopped. However is it possible to turn someone into a pure blood? Will that change Anna completely? (after sighing) If she really wants to then I can't stop her but I wish there was another way to make Anna stronger.

Suddenly Keith saw a faint fire barrier appear before hearing grenades hitting away from the base so instead of just standing there he went off to get some answers.

(inside walls)

Lieutenant (while soldiers are running to their post): Hurry up. Everyone to position!

Keith (after landing near the lieutenant): What's going on?

Lieutenant (look at Keith): This is none of your business. Go back inside and take care of that weak person.

Keith (after grabbing the lieutenant's collar): Listen here. If you don't want your base to be destroyed then tell me.

Soldier (behind Keith): We were told shadow monsters have been spotted and they're on the way.

Keith (while letting the lieutenant go): Not a bad idea to start attacking them first to cut their forces. (look at the lieutenant) Please keep most of your men inside the walls.

Lieutenant: Why should I listen to you?

Keith: Because my companion and I know how strong the shadow monsters are. Plus it allows them to live another day.

Lieutenant: Then what are you going to do?

Keith: That's a dumb question. I'm going to help by going to the enemies.

Lieutenant: Since you're going out of the walls can I at least put soldiers outside to protect the gate?

Keith: I'll allow that.

Lieutenant (look at the soldier while Keith runs off): Inform the other lieutenants.

Soldier (saluting): Yes sir.

(outside the base)

Keith (in his mind while falling after jumping over the wall): Yoruichi must have put that barrier up (at the same time landing) but how long will that last before it breaks?

(inside base Anna room)

Anna (sitting up while in bed): What's with the noise?

Yurei (appearing after Anna coughs): The humans are preparing for battle.

Anna (look at Yurei): Where's Keith?

Yurei: He's heading to the enemy right now after being told about the situation.

Anna (standing after getting out of bed): I see.

Sabrina (in Anna's mind while she ties her hair): Anna you need to stay in bed.

Anna (while letting go of her ponytail): How could I sleep when people are going to die? (walking to the door having her eyes red) I'm heading out.

(Forest)

Keith (looking at the group of shadow monsters after just landing on a tree branch from teleporting): A bit more than I expected. However, since no one is here I can do some testing.

Keith's katana soon appeared near him and once he grabbed it Keith jumped off immediately disappearing before reappearing near an enemy to unleash a slash. He then turned around making a slime van appear to use the ice breeze to blow away half of the group. Without noticing Keith jumped avoiding an attack from behind and in mid-air, the slime van disappeared so he could unleash a long diagonal lightning slash on the flying shadow creatures.

Keith (in his mind after landing in the middle of the remaining monsters): There were thirty but now there are fourteen.

Five shadow monsters charge at Keith from different angles but once close slime spikes come out from his shadow shielding him and at the same time killing those near him. Before any other move, Keith's body was covered in lightning sparks immediately disappearing but once he appeared out of the enemy group multiple lightning slashes appeared instantly killing them.

Keith (having shadow eyes while the lightning sparks disappear): I didn't mean to use them together but I was even faster than before. (while his eyes return to normal) However, I don't want to overuse the shadow eyes yet.
