Chapter 15

(sunset Anna room)

Lieutenant three (sitting on a chair seeing Anna open her eyes): Feeling better?

Anna ( sitting up having her coat and boots off): Did it happen again?

Lieutenant three: You completely lost your mind today.

Anna (looked to the side): I'm sorry.

Lieutenant three (turns Anna's head by moving her chin): Don't look away when you're apologising. So you remember what you did?

Anna (while the Lieutenant moves his hand away): Yes and the feeling behind it.

Lieutenant three: What do you mean by the feeling behind it?

Keith (at the open door holding a cup of water): She was going to kill you if you didn't move out of her way. (walking towards them while the door closes): You can't fully blame Anna because her demon instinct took over.

Anna (look at Keith): My demon instanct?

Keith: It's hard to explain but those eyes can take over your mind when you're shaken or angry.

Lieutenant three (while Keith passes Anna the cup): But we just sense her overpowering magic aura and her bloodlust.

Keith: Maybe because you're human you can't sense demon aura.

Anna (after finishing her drink): Sorry for the trouble.

Lieutenant three: Sorry for rushing Anna but the captain is wondering if you're going to take the mission.

Anna: To the shadow realm?

Lieutenant three: That's right.

Anna: What does the captain want me to do?

lieutenant three: Enter the portal and report what you find. However, if you get attacked do your best to return alive. That's what the captain told me to tell you.

Keith (while Anna thinks): If you want to go I'll be right behind you.

Anna (look at the lieutenant): I'll take the mission.

Lieutenant three: I'm happy to hear that. Everything you need will be ready by tomorrow.

Keith (after the lieutenant disappears): There he goes. (look at Anna) Why not rest for the rest of the day?

Anna: What about reporting to the squad?

Keith: Leave that to me. You look tired.

Anna (while getting off her bed after sighing): Fine.

Keith (catches Anna when she leans forward when standing): Don't push yourself.

Anna (standing on her own): It's the medicine. I should be fine tomorrow.

Keith: Alright.

(squad one base)

Keith (in front of the soldiers): I know this is short notice but the captain assigned us to head to the shadow realm tomorrow.

Lilly (while every soldier is lined up): May I ask why?

Keith: Because we got told that a portal appear in a cave near the base. Squad three and four are already making preparations. So please get things ready but remember to get some sleep for tomorrow.

All the soldiers: Yes sir!

Keith (while the soldiers walk off): Lilly you have a moment?

Lilly (smiling while looking at Keith): Need me to do something?

Keith: I need to go somewhere. Can I leave everything to you?

Lilly: Of course. However, can I ask how Anna is doing?

Keith: She's fine. Anna will be resting in her room today.

Lilly: That's good. (remember) By the way, I walked past the squad two lieutenant and heard him say something.

Keith (mad): What did he say?

Lilly: I just heard him calling Anna a monster.

Keith (after sighing): So what do you think of Anna?

Lilly: That's a dumb question. Squad one see Anna as Anna. After she got those eyes Anna was scared to show us but we still showed our trust in her when she did show her eyes to us. (walking away after turning around) Anna even cried being happy that no one turned her away.

Keith (quietly): I see.

(night headquarters four roof)

Keith (turns around while the wind blows): Thanks for coming.

Lieutenant three (standing a few steps away from Keith): You're lucky I made time to meet you. So what do you want to talk about?

Keith: Can you tell me what was inside that needle capsule?

Lieutenant three: It's a medicine that shuts down Anna's systems for a short time after losing her mind.

Keith: Why does Anna look so drained after waking up? That could kill her.

Lieutenant three: I know. In secret, I stay by her side when we use that medicine.

Keith: How many times did you use the medicine?

Lieutenant three: This is the second time I used it.

Keith: So you use it for rare moments just like today?

Lieutenant three: Yes. Now that you're at Anna's side we can easily stop her like how we did today.

Keith: Right.

(in Anna's dream)

Unknown voice: It looks like it's almost time to finally decide if you want to die or live.

(The next day morning Anna's room)

Anna (sitting up after opening her eyes while wearing her pyjamas): Was that some type of warning? (in her mind while getting out of bed) Don't think about it. I have to get ready for an important mission. (look at the wall mirror) I hope you're still watching Shoto.

(hallway)

Keith (in front of Anna's door wearing his soldier outfit and having his coat on his shoulder): Good morning.

Anna (walking out holding her blindfold and wearing her soldier outfit): Morning.

Keith (walking with Anna): Ready for today's mission?

Anna (putting her blindfold on): Yeah. Make sure to be at your best. This mission won't be easy.

Keith: You just make sure not to lose your way.

Anna: You worry too much.
