"I have a significant amount of paperwork to sign, so I won't be able to join you for dinner."

The CEO is occupied with signing paperwork, and her business partner is extending an invitation for dinner, which she declines.

But Win is persistent. "It's nearly 6 pm. You can continue that tomorrow." While flipping the pages then continued. "Besides, you promised to go with me tonight."

Lingling sighed and let go of the pen.

"Please?" Win pouted, which the CEO finds it cute.

(Author: Lol that's not cute)

"Okay okay. I'll just change, I feel uncomfortable with this coat." She smiled then left to go to her office rest room. The man let out a smirk.

He took this as an opportunity to send the younger woman a message. "I'll change the time, something came up. See you at 7 pm."

Orm arrived at the location specified by Win on time at 5:30 pm. As it is now almost 6 pm, she requested the waiter if she could remain in the restaurant until 7 pm to avoid unnecessary back and forth trips, opting to stay put at the designated restaurant. The waiter smiled at her and reassured her that she could stay as the restaurant would be open until 10 pm. She stood up and went to retouch in the restroom.

As she exited the cubicle, she was taken aback to find that she was not alone. A smile lit up her face when caught sight of View's reflection on the mirror.

"It's unexpected to see you here." She mumbles with a smile, causing View to turn towards her.

"Oh my god, Orm. You almost gave me a heart attack." The model exclaimed, clutching her chest in surprise.

Orm chuckled. "What are you doing here?"

View turned to the faucet, washing her hands. "I had a meeting with a client who was interested in hiring me as a model for their recently launched business. And you, what brings you here?" While turning off the faucet and glanced at her.

"I was invited for dinner by someone I know."

View interlocked their arms as they walked out of the restroom, sharing laughter and whispers. Unbeknownst to them, a piercing gaze followed their every move.

Lingling, who was in the midst of bringing a spoonful of food to her mouth, paused as she noticed Orm and another girl went out of the rest room. She and Win are seated not too far from the restroom but still within view of people exiting it. He observed the shift in the CEO's facial expression. His eyes trailed down to her hands, noticing her clenched fist around the spoon. Following her line of sight, he spotted Orm and View leaving the restaurant. To redirect her attention, he cleared his throat. "Oh, is that Orm?"

Lingling regained her composure and arched one eyebrow. "H-huh?"

Win chuckled lightly before taking a sip on his glass. "I spotted Nong Orm leaving the restaurant, did you see her as well?" He was behaving as though he did not notice her gaze towards them.

She just nod and put back her attention to her food.

However, Win is feeling thrilled about the drama he orchestrated. "The girl she was with. They look incredibly close. I know that girl, she's attracted to women. I wouldn't be surprised if she's also attracted to Nong."

This caused Lingling to shoot him an irritated glance. "They are simply close friends, just like her other friends. Don't read too much into it." She uttered coldly.

He would be deceiving himself if he claimed ignorance of that particular expression, yet he pretended.

"Anyway, Nong Orm actually invited me for dinner earlier. She gave me a call, and for some reason, I just agreed." He said, As if it's not worth mentioning.

The CEO furrowed her brows, confused.

He shrugged. "She has been inviting me to meet up for a week, but I haven't had the time. But, I agreed earlier. Once we are done here, I will go meet her. I'm also curious."

Lingling fell silent. Her mind raced with thoughts. Are Orm and Win are that close that the girl has been eager to meet him, and for what purpose?

After they finished their meal, they decided to go their separate ways. Win headed in a different direction to meet Orm. Lingling, who had been anxious the entire time, chose to stay alert and followed the two.

She spotted them inside the coffee shop. Orm chose the coffee shop as the meetup spot since she and View already had dinner. View insisted and she couldn't refuse.

Lingling entered the coffee shop and took a seat at a distance from the two persons she was following. She couldn't hear their conversation, but she had a clear view of them.

Win pulled out a chair to sit facing the younger woman who was already seated in her own chair.

"Why did you want to meet, Phi Win?" Orm initiated the conversation after he had settled into the chair.

"We should order coffee first." He smiled at her before reaching out his arm to signal a waiter, but she stopped his arm by grabbing it.

"I have already placed an order, Phi. It will be served shortly."

She just simply stared at him, waiting for him to speak.

"Why are you in a rush, Nong? Don't you want to spend time with your future brother?" His smile flashed, leaving Orm confused.

"I know you're confused, but are you aware that your mom is having a relationship with my dad?"

"I know my mom is seeing someone, and I get it, it's been nearly 15 years since my dad passed away. But I had no idea it's your father she's involved with." She admitted, her voice tinged with surprise. The revelation left both of them in a moment of confusion, the weight of this newfound connection between their families sinking in.

"I was surprised when my dad spoke to me about marrying someone else. I understand and gave my approval. I don't want him to be alone. But learning that it's your mom brings me happiness. I finally have a younger sister and it's you." Win spoke softly, his eyes shimmering with mischief, yet behind his sweet words lies a sinister plan. Despite his gentle appearance and soft voice, there is an unexpected darkness within him.

Orm, perceiving Win as a kind-hearted one, smiled at him, pleased that her future stepbrother is someone she knows.

After the waiter brought their coffee, he excused himself to the restroom. Lingling observed them from a distance, noticing Win left and Orm sitting alone at the table, smiling and giggling. Orm's continuous giggles made her believe that she wouldn't be alone anymore and would have a brother. She couldn't wait to tell this news to her friends. Lingling watched her expressions closely, but her own thoughts turned negative as she furrowed her brows throughout the observation.

As the man returned to the table, he briefly caught sight of his business partner staring intently at the younger woman from afar. His excitement grew, a smirk forming on his lips.

Orm looked at her future stepbrother with an enthusiastic smile. "Phi Win, I'm thrilled to have a brother at last." she expressed.

He smiled fakely. "I am too, Nong."

"Can I hug you?" She's feeling both nervous and excited, couldn't wait for his response. She stood up from her chair and approached him for a hug. Win pretended to be surprised, aware that Lingling was watching, creating the illusion that Orm was flirting with him against his will. She nestled close to him.

As Lingling watched the scene unfold before her, her heart felt like it was cracking into a million pieces. She couldn't pinpoint if her hurt stemmed from Orm's actions or Win's deception. Her hand clenching into a tight fist. Every glance, every touch between the two fueled her anger. The sight of the girl snuggled up to him, face pressed against his chest, ignited a fury within her. She never expected her to act in such a manner instead of a soft and decent girl. The thought drove her to the brink of insanity. Unable to bear the sight any longer, Lingling abruptly rose from her seat and left the coffee shop, consumed by a mix of jealousy and rage.
