Orm was deeply hurt by what happened that night. Lingling's words were harsh and unexpected, and it really stung that she didn't even try to ask before accusing her. The betrayal by her stepbrother, who she had trusted so much, was also a huge disappointment. She had defended him even when her friends were suspicious, but now she realizes he was manipulative and an asshole. She regrets being so trusting and blames herself for not seeing the truth sooner. The worst part is that it was Lingling, someone she loved deeply, who caused her the most pain.
Even though she's heartbroken, Orm is grateful for this experience. It made her realize that her love for the woman wasn't healthy. She had given her everything - her time, her love, and her willingness to do anything for her. Now, she sees that Lingling doesn't deserve all of it. This realization brings tears and a lot of pain, but it also makes her stronger. She had been driving her bike without any real destination. The wind was strong and the tears in her eyes made it hard to see. Her helmet hid the sobs that were coming from deep inside her. The rain started falling, like a sad song matching the tears in her heart. She ended up at a lonely seaside, all alone. The rain felt like nothing compared to the storm inside her.
She stopped driving and just sat there. Her mind was filled with so many feelings: Regret, Anger, Sadness, and a feeling of being completely lost. She was numb, and she didn't feel anything for Lingling or Win anymore. With trembling hands, she took off her helmet and let out a loud, painful scream. The pain in her throat felt like the pain in her heart. "I hate you! I hate you so much, Lingling! I hate you so much, Win! I hate you so much!!! I hate myself!!!" She didn't even realize what she was doing. She was just yelling, letting out all her anger. Tears were streaming down her face, each one showing how much she was hurting. She was pounding her fists on her chest, trying to make the bad feelings inside her go away. Her screams mixed with the sound of the heavy rain. Every time she hit her chest, it was like she was letting go of all the pain she was holding inside. She collapsed to her knees, pulling her hair in mixed emotions. Even though she was yelling and crying, the pain inside her didn't go away. It was like a sharp, burning feeling that wouldn't stop. She was so frustrated that her sobs got louder and louder, like a big storm. Every cry was full of pain, showing how much she was hurting. In that moment, she was a mess of emotions, feeling so lost that she felt like she was going to disappear. "I can't take this anymore..."
Lingling felt terrible and she was still crying. She was confused and angry. Win, looking like he was worried, gave her a glass of water to try and make her feel better. He put his hand on her back, trying to comfort her, but it just made her remember how much she was hurting. She kept crying, and it seemed like she wouldn't stop. It showed how much pain and anger she was feeling. "I'm sorry about what happened. If I knew she was trying to do that, I would have stayed away." He sounded like he was sorry, but his eyes showed something different. He was actually happy that his plan had worked. He didn't care about how Orm felt or that they were soon going to be family.
Lingling sat on the edge of the bed and looked at him. She was trying to understand what was going on, and she needed answers. "What did you two talk about that night at the cafe?"
He sat down next to her. "Oh, well, she told me she had liked me for a long time. She said she kept going to your office just to see me. I never thought she would go so far as to follow me and show up at my place." He shook his head in disbelief.
She felt like her whole world was falling apart. She realized that Orm wasn't going to her office for her, but for Win. It was a big shock, and it broke the happy picture she had in her mind.
He moved closer and put his hand on her shoulder. He wanted her to lean on him. "I still love you, Ling." He said. "Even though you were with her. But that's over now, and you know what kind of person she really is. I'll always be here for you."
Lingling didn't seem concerned at all about what she had done with the girl. She didn't care that things were so bad right now. She wiped away her tears, stood up. "I'm going home."
Win, who was always good at getting people to do what he wanted, tried to stop her from leaving. "Why don't you stay here tonight? I don't think you have enough energy to go home so late after everything that's happened."
Lingling, though, stood her ground. She wanted to be alone after all the bad feelings she had been dealing with. "I want to go home. I want to be alone." Her words were strong, like she was asking for some time to think about what had happened and how she had been betrayed. He kept trying to convince her but Lingling didn't change her mind. She looked at him one last time and left the room without turning around. She left behind a feeling of emptiness and broken trust.
When she got home, she felt so tired that she just fell into the bathtub. She cried as she sat there, finding comfort in the quietness of the bathroom. In that moment, she let all the bad feelings she had been holding inside come out. She thought about the time she had spent with Orm. The memories are both sweet and bitter. She remembered how the younger woman always seemed to get to her, making her feel annoyed but also wanting to be around her. Just thinking about being in her office, just to see her for a moment, made her smile a little. But then she remembered what had really happened and her smile vanished.Lingling thought about what Win had said, and it felt so different from the feelings she had with Orm. She remembered how hurt she had felt earlier, and she realized that it wasn't Win who was hurting her. She didn't care about Win or seeing him with other girls. But it was Orm, and what she had done, that was really hurting her. It was a deep pain that she couldn't get rid of.
In that moment of clarity, amidst the echoes of heartache, she finally acknowledged the truth she had been avoiding - She was in love with Orm.
