I watched her as she blew the smoke. I knew she smoked when she was a teenager, but I never imagined she'd be able to flaunt it so expertly. But given that she is a novelist, I understand that she does not need to hide her vices from others.

Kinuha ko ang wine ko at ininom ito. Pagkatapos ay tumikhim ako.

"I'll choose Sachi as the female lead artist." panimula ko.

"So. . . who will be the male lead?"

Natawa siya at nilagay ang sigarilyo sa ash tray. She then leaned both of her elbows on the table. "Voniz Jenkins."

Humigpit ang hawak ko sa coat na nasa kandungan ko. She must be crazy. . . That two were ex-lovers. Mas lumawak ang ngiti niya ng hindi ako makapagsalita agad. She must have thought that I didn't expected any of this. Well, I fucking don't.

"No." I firmly replied.

"Humor me, Direc. . ." she trailed off. She took her glass wine and poured her mouth a drink. "You chose, Sachi. You know her career took a nosedive after the scandal, right?"

"However, she's a versatile actress." I defensed. "Kahit na nag lie-low siya sa industry, sigurado akong magaling pa rin siyang umarte."

She shrugged. "I am fully aware of that, which is why I did not object when you chose her."

Kumuha ako ng stick ng sigarilyo at ako naman ang humipak. Hindi pa kami nagsisimula pero pakiramdam ko ma i-stress na ako kaagad. Isinandal ko ang kaliwang kamay sa dibdib habang ang isa ay nakapatong sa gilid ng dibdib ko.

"Bakit si Voniz? There are many artists who would be a good fit for the role."

"It's obvious that Voniz has a lot of fans; if this gets out to the public, the fans will go wild, and don't you think this will be a big break for Sachi? This is actually a perfect comeback." she convinced.

Tumaas ang sulok ng labi ko. "This will not be an ideal comeback for them. You didn't know what happened so you could simply state that."

"Let's focus on the career, Direc. I believe artists should be professional regardless of their past, right? And besides, why don't we ask both of our artists instead of whining?"

"I am not whining; I am simply concerned about the possibility that this will not end well." diretso kong sinabi.

Ngumiti ulit siya, ngayon ay mas malawak na. "I believe Voniz deserves the role, and it is up to Sachi to decide whether she will accept it or not."

I pursed my lips and watched her smile with triumph. Kinuha ko ang librong ginawa niya. Sabi nila ay sikat siyang novelist sa buong mundo pero hindi ko pa ito napapatunayan. I don't enjoy reading novels unless it is part of my job.

Our brief meeting ended after an hour. Bumalik ako sa condo ko para mag email kay Sachi. Deborah has a point, though. But I don't think this will sit well with Sachi. Pero katulad ng sinabi ni Deborah, si Sachi pa rin ang mag d-decide kung tatanggapin niya ang role.

The novel was a dark romance. At hindi ko maimagine kung ready na ba sa ganun si Sachi. But like what I said, she's a versatile actress. Mas gusto nga niya dati na kontrabida palagi ang role niya kesa maka loveteam iyong ex niya.

Nang mag gabi ay hindi ako makatulog. Hinihintay ko pa rin na tumawag si Rowan pero hindi niya ito ginawa kahit isang beses. Hindi ko rin naman siya tinext o tinawagan kahit isang beses.

It would be weird kung gagawin ko iyon dahil hindi ko naman ito ginagawa kahit kanino unless importante. At iisipin ko nalang na busy talaga siya sa trabaho niya.
