The ride back to Kamino was awkward to say the least. No one was in the mood to celebrate or even talk. Tech and Wrecker were piloting, with Crosshair and Hunter sitting behind them. Echo stood above Tech's chair. Tech couldn't help but keep thinking about Valerie.
"We're coming up on Kamino." Tech somberly said.
"It's good to be home." Wrecker said, oblivious to Tech's mood. "How long has it been?" There was a silence where Tech would normally give him the exact number. Echo looked at his brother before nudging his shoulder.
"Right..." Tech said. "One hundred and eighty rotations in a standard cycle, but galactic zone changes put the adjusted figure at around two hundred and five."
"What?" Wrecker looked at Tech.
Echo sighed. "A long time."
"You got that right!" Wrecker laughed.
Crosshair had been scowling at his brother. Hunter continued to sit there with his eyes closed but he could feel his brother's gaze. "What?"
"You sure those Jedi died when they fell?" Crosshair questioned again.
Hunter opened his eyes and looked at Crosshair. "Sure I'm sure. Why?"
"Well usually when someone falls you look down, not across." Crosshair pointed out.
"Well, some of us don't like to watch our friends die." Hunter stated and got up. Crosshair continued to sit there but he folded his arms, not believing his brother.

"Level five lockdown remains in effect..."
Tech heard the overhead speaker as the group left the Marauder. There seemed to be a difference in the air here but he couldn't figure out what was going on, but something was different he just knew it.
Hunter continued to lead the way. A group of clones sporting red armor walked by them. "Shock troopers?" Hunter questioned out loud. "What's the Coruscant Guard doing here?"
"Level five lockdown remains in effect. Security teams, report to the command center."
The speaker repeated.
"This isn't a drill." Tech said, looking at his data pad.
"Oh man." Wrecker groaned. "What did we miss now?"
"The end of the war." One of the Coruscant Guards walked over to them.
"Say again, Trooper?" Hunter asked.
"General Grievous was defeated on Utapau." He told them. "The Separatist leadership has collapsed. The war is over."
"Just like I said." Tech said.
Wrecker gasped. "It is just like you said."
A body was being carried out covered by a sheet. Hunter had his guess as to who it could be. The Bad Batch watched the clones carry the body away as something slipped from their hand. A lightsaber clattered to the floor. Tech swallowed the lump in his throat.
She can't be dead. Tech had to bury his face back into his data pad. He still just can't believe that Valerie had died in that ravine. Something just wasn't right. He didn't want to agree with Crosshair but he also didn't think Valerie was dead.
The clone picked the lightsaber up. The batch all looked at each other. "Is there a problem?"
"No problem." Hunter said. "We'll just head to our barracks then."
"Best hurry. There's a mandatory general assembly at 1500." The clone said.
The batch walked off and into the facility. Clones walked orderly fashioned but again something still felt off in the air. Hunter observed everyone around them. "It's not just the clones on Kaller." He pointed out. "All the regs are acting strange."
