Happy Reading

The morning was unusually quiet. Whispers followed Abeer through the corridors. Though suspended, he had returned to school to retrieve some of his belongings, accompanied by Sumitra and silently followed by Angad.

Meanwhile, Robin stood near the principal’s office, restless. His eyes scanned the corridor for someone. Finally, Dharshi passed by and paused.

Dharshi (surprised):
"Robin?"

Robin (nervous, determined):
"I need to talk to the principal. Now."

Dharshi (guarded):
"Why?"

Robin (quietly):
"My brother did it. Steven… he planted those drugs."

Her eyes widened. "What?"

_____________

Principal’s Office

Robin sits with the Principal, Sumitra, Andy, and Abeer in the room. Angad, Dharshi, and Keerthi wait outside, tense.

Robin (firmly):
"It was Steven. My younger brother. He’s in freshman year. He thought he was avenging me. For everything that happened... He thought hurting Abeer would settle some twisted score."

Principal (shocked):
"Do you have proof of this accusation?"

Robin hands over a voice recording — Steven’s confession on a call. His voice clearly states,

> “I did it for you, bro. I snuck into Abeer's locker and dropped the bag. I watched him from the stairs… he was filling out his game form.”

Everyone in the room is stunned.

_______________

Outside the Office

Sumitra rushes to Angad and hugs him, overwhelmed. Keerthi looks at Abeer with wide eyes, finally whispering,

Keerthi:
"I told you we'd prove it."

Dharshi (smiling, soft):
"And we did."

Robin steps away after the confession. Dharshi finds him near the steps.

Dharshi:
"You did the right thing today."

Robin (quiet):
"I owed him that much… even if he’ll never forgive me."

She doesn’t respond. She just nods and walks away.

_____________________

Principal clears Abeer’s name publicly over the school intercom.

Steven is taken into temporary custody and suspended.

Abeer walks back into school — this time, with Keerthi, Dharshi, and Angad walking beside him.

In the distance, students stop whispering. Silence turns into respect.
