Happy Reading.
Noah stepped out with purpose, her gaze sharp and unwavering as she found Nick near the rows of chairs set up for the ceremony. He was scrolling through his phone, cool as ever.
Noah: “Hey. Got a second?”
Nick looked up, surprised but amused. “For you? Always.”
She didn’t return the smile.
Noah (calm but firm): “What are you doing, Nick?”
He blinked, head tilting slightly.
Nick: “Helping set up for the wedding? You’re welcome to join.”
Noah (sharper now): “That’s not what I meant. What are you doing with Keerthi? With Dharshi? With everyone?”
Nick’s expression didn’t shift. “I’m doing what a brother should do.”
Noah crossed her arms.
Noah: “Manipulating them? Planting doubts? Whispering lies into people’s ears like you’re playing God?”
Nick (coldly smiling): “You think it’s lies?”
He took a step closer, his voice lowering, more venom now than charm.
Nick: “Abeer two-timed my sisters last year. Played them like toys. And no one said anything. I kept quiet. Because I wanted to believe he changed.”
Nick (voice rising just slightly): “And what happened? Dharshi fell for him again. And Keerthi — she fell for Angad. The guy is Abeer's elder brother .”
Noah stared at him, searching for the heart behind the words. There wasn’t much.
Noah (softly): “So now what? You ruin it all before they get the happiness you never had?”
Nick flinched, just slightly.
Nick (harshly): “I’m stopping history from repeating itself.”
Noah: “No. You’re controlling it. Like a puppet master.”
Nick (smirking): “Would you really let your sisters walk right back into the fire and do nothing?”
Noah ; they are just kids nick , you are none to decide what should happen in there love life .And “I’d stand beside them — not above them.”
Silence pulsed between them.
Noah turned to leave, then looked back once.
Noah: “You say you’re doing it as a brother. But real brothers don’t protect with lies. They protect with truth.”
And with that, she walked away, leaving Nick staring after her — the perfect mask of control cracking just slightly.

The haldi had settled down. Laughter still echoed across the venue, but the girls had taken a break to clean up. Keerthi sat cross-legged on a mattress, towel wrapped over her shoulders. Dharshi was combing her wet hair out with her fingers. Noah stood near the mirror, drying her hands on a spare towel — but her mind wasn’t with the celebration.
She turned suddenly.
Noah: “I need to tell you both something. And I need you to actually listen.”
Keerthi (playful, distracted): “Sounds serious. What? You caught Abeer flirting again?”
Noah (quietly): “No. It’s Nick.”
