A tiny rock skimmed across the dark water surrounding the Dark Island, before with a small ripple it sank and was consumed by the Endless Sea. "Well, it got farther than last time....." A disheartened Earth Ninja mumbled, just barely beating out the stone that Kai had tried to skim across the sea moments ago

After the devastating defeat of the Green Ninja at the hands of the Overlord, the Ninja's hopes of being able to stop the Dark Lord from corrupting all of Ninjago were completely crushed, all they could really do now was lay on the sand of the Dark Island and watch from afar as their home was entirely consumed by darkness. "With the limited medical supplies we have at our disposal, I am afraid this is the best that I could do" Zane told Lloyd as he finished tending to his broken limb, having wrapped the majority of the Green Ninja's leg in bandages 

Koko helped her injured son back onto his feet, Lloyd's right arm was slung around his mother's neck as the Green Ninja found it impossible to support himself with one of his legs broken, the Lady Iron Dragon needing to help her son stand to the best of his ability. Even after Zane's medical examination, Lloyd still felt absolutely terrible, not just because the supplies they had left weren't the best at curing the pain he was in, but also because he had not just let himself and his team down, but the entirety of Ninjago. The Overlord was going to completely takeover Ninjago all because he didn't have the strength to fight him 

"I really hope that at least Harumi and Sky are keeping themselves safe over there......" Kai solemnly wished, not even wanting to imagine what could be happening to his girlfriend back in Ninjago. "I am certain that Harumi and Skylor are more than capable of taking care of themselves" Master Wu spoke, his gaze fixed on his father's land currently shrouded in total darkness, a sight he hoped he would never have to see

"Yeah but what about Seliel? There's no way she's gonna be able to defend herself against the Overlord and his indestructible army" Cole murmured with a large frown plastered across his face, silently praying to the First Spinjitzu Master that Seliel would somehow manage to escape the grasp of the Overlord and his Stone Warriors, but looking at the darkened island of Ninjago it seemed highly unlikely anybody could be left unscathed by the evil consuming the land. "And what about Jay? I don't even know if we're ever gonna see him again, let alone return him to his usual self" Nya brought up with a sorrowful sigh "The last image we're ever gonna have of him is a twisted and corrupted monster....."

While Master Wu and the other Ninja miserably laid across the sandy shore of the Dark Island, not a single ounce of fight left in them as they voiced their heavy grievances, Zane and Koko headed towards them, Lloyd wobbling along beside his mother as pain continued to course through his wounded body. "Perhaps it is best to think of our friends as we remember them in our hearts, not as they currently are now" The white haired Nindroid tried to comfort Nya as he kneeled beside her, resting a firm hand on one of her shoulders

"Argh I don't understand any of this master!" Kai suddenly jumped to his feet and faced his old teacher "You told us that the prophecy said the Green Ninja would be the one to defeat the Overlord, why didn't we win?" The Fire Ninja asked his mentor, starting to feel angry that all he could do was kick around a bunch of sand while his home was being ruled by the Overlord. "I am afraid I do not know Kai...." Wu gravely spoke, the conical hat atop his head casting a shadow over his face. "You don't know?!" Cole joined Kai in jumping to his feet "You're Master Wu! You know everything! You've got a long white beard!" He cried out, his voice laced with frustration

"I know why...." Lloyd's strained voice piped up, grabbing everybody's attention "We lost the Final Battle because of me" He proclaimed to everyone surrounding him "It's my fault that we're all stuck here on this island, while the Overlord gets to be over in Ninjago possibly destroying everyone and everything we care about" The blonde teen continued to speak, riddled with both shame and guilt. "Lloyd, none of that is true...." Koko tried to reassure her son that it wasn't his fault they were in this situation
