(Skylor's POV)
I think this might be it, the hardest battle of my entire life! I really don't know if I can actually win this one, I turned my head to see how Harumi was faring, and it looked like she was having just as much difficulty as I was. We just have to keep going! If we can just push ourselves a little bit more, I think we can actually do it! As tired as I felt, I gathered the last bit of energy within my body and tried to hold my head up as high as I could, forcing my exhausted eyes to open as wide as they possibly could
"That is an excellent answer Sally! You are indeed correct!" Mr. Saunders spoke in his usual eccentric manner, grabbing a piece of white chalk and writing something on his chalk board that my tired eyes just couldn't make out. Doing what no student dared to do, I looked up at the ticking clock at the top of the room, it was hard to see through my drooping eyelids but it looked like this extremely boring history lesson could end at any moment now. I've been fighting myself not to doze off this entire class, I'm this close to getting out of here without getting a detention so I can't give in now!
Harumi looked like she was seconds away from losing her battle with sleep, I thought about throwing a pencil towards her to snap her awake but I don't think my body had enough energy left for that, and if I'm trying not to get a detention for falling asleep during class, it's probably not the wisest idea to fling a pencil across the room. My prayers to the First Spinjitzu Master were eventually answered as my ears were finally graced with the sound of the school bell ringing loudly, snapping both Harumi and I awake and filling us with energy
"Well that's the bell class! Please do remember to read chapters four through eight before our next lesson! Have a good rest of your day my students!" Mr. Saunders tried to speak to the room of hastily leaving students, people almost trampling over each other to get out the door and into the hallway littered with orange lockers. With our awesome Ninja skills, it was easy for Harumi and I to slip out of the crowd of other students and keep ourselves from being squished by our rowdy classmates. "Ugh! I never thought that class was going to end!" Harumi yawned as she stretched her body, walking beside me through the almost too bright white hallway, at least the almost blinding brightness was able to wake me up a little bit
"Tell me about it, I thought for sure I was gonna fall asleep and be cursed with an hour of detention" I told my white haired friend as I leaned against the locker beside her own, crossing my arms and failing to suppress a drowsy yawn. "I swear ever since the others went away to the Dark Island, the school days have been so boring and lame!" Harumi voiced her thoughts while stashing her history books away in her fairly organised locker, it sure beats the mess that is Kai's, how he finds anything in that thing is a mystery to me. "I know right! It feels like all the days are blurring together" I agreed, feeling like I've almost lost my sense of time since the other Ninja left us behind
Harumi finished up with her locker in no time and swiftly locked the orange door, not before taking a quick look at herself in the little mirror she had in her locker and making sure that her hair was looking perfect of course. "While the school side of things has been totally boring, I can't say the same about our Ninja duties" Harumi quietly muttered to me as the two of us strolled through the crowded hallway, looking forward to our lunch break after an especially tiring lesson. "Sleepless nights as a Ninja and a boring Mr. Saunders history class don't exactly mix well" I commented in a quiet voice
Even though Garmadon and the Stone Army are long gone from Ninjago, that doesn't mean us Ninja back in the city have been slacking off, far from it. It seems like the people of the city have noticed that Harumi and I are the only two Ninja around, as I've lost count of how many carjackings, muggings and robberies we've had to stop, which certainly hasn't helped with staying awake during class. I'm not even sure when was the last time I had a good proper night of sleep, practically every night I'm getting woken up in the middle of my sleep to dawn my orange gi and stop the hundredth robbery that week
