Finding purpose in your life is a journey filled with self-discovery, passion, and meaning.
Six months later...
The battlefield of Paradhu lay silent.
Broken weapons, fallen banners, and the bodies of defeated dacoits covered the land.
Rudhra stood upon a small rise, his eyes scanning the field.
Not far from him stood his father.
Aditha Varman.
His sword was still dripping with blood.
Around him lay the bodies of more than a hundred dacoits he had cut down single-handedly.
Aditha had never been a man who sought wars beyond necessity. But Sarojini's death had changed something within him. Since that day, the restraint that once defined him had thinned into something darker and quieter.
Yet this war had not been his decision.
It had been Rudhra's.
When Rudhra Varman first declared that Zilam would march upon Paradhu, even Rana and Veera had been startled.
Paradhu had never been invaded before.
They feared the young king was acting out of anger.
But Rudhra had not spoken out of rage.
His decision came from careful thought.
Lavani, which lay closer to Zilam, no longer had a clear ruler. Attacking them would have been unjust and politically reckless.
Paradhu, however, was different.
Many of the dark events that had occurred in Zilam had been aided by the dacoits of Paradhu. And if Lavani remained leaderless, Paradhu's chieftains might soon try to seize that land and grow powerful enough to threaten Zilam itself.
Rudhra chose to strike before that day could arrive.
It was Chandirai who patiently explained this reasoning to Rana.
Only then did Rana and Veera understand something their emperor had long known.
Why Aditha had chosen Rudhra as his successor.
But Rudhra carried another reason within him.
One he never spoke aloud.
He still remembered the cremation ground.
The way his father had screamed.
The way the rain had fallen like a quiet farewell.
The men who had brought death into Zilam had fled back to Paradhu.
Rudhra had tracked them.
And now he had destroyed them.
Aditha had fought beside him as his commander.
Rana and Veera had fought as well... driven by their own losses.
Veera, who had never been able to avenge the dacoits who killed his friend, now cut down every man who stood before him.
When the war finally ended, the message spread far beyond Paradhu.
The neighboring kings began whispering a new name with caution.
Rudhra Varman.
The fifteen-year-old emperor of Zilam had shown a ruthlessness none had expected.
But Rudhra did not care what they feared.
