Umayal was travelling to the temple and they reached the hall near temple in the early morning. After getting down from the palanquin, she looked around to see if he was somewhere around. Rukmani was looking at her line of sight and found it weird.

Rukmani: Enna aanadhu Umayal? Edhaiyum tholaitthu vittaiya? Edharku vandha vazhiyaiye paarthu kondirukkiraai?

Umayal: appadi edhuvum illai thaaiye. anaivarum vandhuvitanara endru paartthen.

Rukmani: Sari ennudan vaa. adhikaalaiyileiye poojai irukkiradhu.

She then took her daughter with her. Umayal was constantly looking around to see if Rana was following them. But he was no where to be seen. Her mood turned sour and she just did everything her mother asked her to. Before going into the temple, they reached the pond to take a bath. Rukmani sat on the last step of the pond to take bath while Umayal entered the water. All the guards stood around the pond. Once Rukmani finished her bathing, she informed Umayal and left to prepare things for Poojai. However, Umayal was yet to finish her bath.

When she got up from the water, she noticed someone standing closer to her in the water.

Rana: Yaarai thedugiraai Uma?

Umayal was shocked to see him over there.

Umayal: Kulatthai suttrilum kaavalukku irukkiraargal Mama. Maatti kolveergal. En thaai ippodhu vandhu viduvaar.

Rana: Baya padadhe anbe. Atthanai elidhil matti kolbavan alla un Maman. Sari kooru.. Yaarai thedi kondirundhaai?

Umayal smiled and said

Umayal: Oru thirudanai... Ore iravil en manadhai thirudi maraindhu pona andha thirudanai.

Rana laughed loudly. When the guards turned around, he just went into the water before anyone could notice. He didn't even breathe under water which really surprised Umayal.

Umayal: Ilavarasi neeraadum velaiyil  thirumba koodadhu endru theriyaadhaa?

She asked the guards and they all turned back to their positions.

Rana came out of the water again.

Rana: Unnudan mattra panippengal varavillaiya Umaiye?

Umayal: Vandhirukkiraargal. Aanal naan dhaan thanimai veandum endru koori anuppi vitten.

He smiled at her.

Umayal: Thangalin thaai thandhaiyar? Kudumbam?

Rana: Thaai undu Thandhai illai... Kudumbam...???? Yaarum illai... Indha ulagil ulla palaril naanum Oruvan.

He also sang a song for her, "Naadaalum vanna mayil kaaviyatthil naan thalaivan... Naattil ulla adimaigalil aayiratthil naan Oruvan... Maaligaiye aval veedu.. Mara kilaiyil en koodu.. Her face turned sour when she heard that song. Rana held her chin and said

Rana: Varuttham kolladhe anbe. Naam inaivadhu urudhi..

She nodded her head and looked around to see Rukmani coming towards the pond.

Umayal: En annai varugiraar.

Rana: Naan purappadum neramum vandhadhu. Adharku mun, nee enakkuraiyaval endru koora oru ninaivu chinnam veandoma? Indha sangili dhaan ennidatthil irukkum vilamadhipattra ondru. idhai nee anindhu kol.

He put that chain around her neck.

Rana: Naan unnai vandhu adaiyum varai nee idhai kazhutthil anindhirukka veandum. Endha kaaranatthai kondum edukka koodadhu.
