You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.

As all eyes turned toward the silver spear, the people of Zilam immediately recognized its wielder. Their protector had arrived.

One by one... Then all at once... They fell to their knees, bowing before their emperor.

Rudhra's lips curved into a knowing smile. His father was here.

And at last, his father's retribution would be fulfilled.

The sound came first. The steady, unhurried echo of hooves striking stone.

Through the grand temple doorway, a tall figure emerged, framed by drifting smoke and beaming sunlight. His heart bore the pain of losing his loved ones, yet he stood unbowed immovable as a mountain.

In his hand gleamed the twin of the silver spear that had just altered fate.

Aditha Varman had arrived.

His gaze swept across the courtyard over the fallen, the wounded, his son standing defiant, and finally... Sangamithra. His Mithra...

His eyes moved over her in a swift, silent search. A thin line of blood traced her forehead, nothing more. Relief loosened the tightness in his chest.

She looked at him just as intently. The mere sight of him steadied her heartbeat, yet it also unsettled her. He was too close to Rajendra.

All the human emotions in Aditha's eyes were reserved for her alone. The moment he turned away, they hardened into iron.

When his eyes settled on Rajendran, the air itself seemed to tighten.

"Thambi Rajendiraaa," he said, his voice calm yet weighted with fifteen years of restrained vengeance.

A moment ago, Rajendra had stood firm as a rock.

But the instant he saw Aditha in the flesh, a chill ran down his spine.

The man was towering, formidable beyond measure. There was something about him, something almost divine. He carried an aura that felt less like that of a king... and more like that of a god of war.

Rajendra was fighting himself internally. He had believed he had matched Aditha in every way. Yet the mere presence of Aditha proved otherwise. He could never reach Aditha's grace.

The realization unsettled him and ignited his anger.

As Aditha advanced inside the courtyard, the reinforcements from Zilam followed close behind, flooding into the temple courtyard like a rising tide.

Aditha had ordered an emergency bridge to be built and had crossed it with his army, bringing the full force of Zilam with him.

Rudhra watched in awe, pride blazing in his eyes at the sheer brilliance and resolve of his father.

Rajendra regained his composure in a heartbeat. If he could not surpass Aditha, he would provoke him.

Rajendra: Un perum padaiyai kondu ennai thorkaditthu vidalam endru enni vidaadhe... Unnaal ennai endrum azhikka iyaladhu... naan unakku udan pirandhavan..

Ennai kolvadharkaaga nee deivamaga karudhum un munnor vidhittha vidhiyai maattra pogiraaiya???

Nee peridhaaga vanangum Kalingarum Un thaai andha Chandravadhaniyin bodhanaigalaiyum meera pogiraaiya???

Sangamithra and Rudhra cast hesitant glances at Aditha. They longed for their emperor to relent, to set aside the rule that bound them, so Rajendra could be struck down without restraint.
