There are small little knocks on the door, when your 5 year old daughter shyly creeps in, practically yelling, "Daddy!! Mommy!!"
Shawn jolts awake, and while sitting up he turns on the lamp next to him waiting for his eyes to adjust to the light.
"What baby?" He motions her over to him and she slowly walks over.
Sniffling she says, "i had a bad dream daddy," she cuddles her teddy bear close to her chest.
A smile spread across shawn's face as he says, "come here baby girl,"
He stretches his arms out and picks her up, laying her down so her arms are wrapped loosely around shawn's neck and her head laying comfortably on his chest.
"Daddy, can you sing something?" She snuggles her head harder into his chest, squishing her cheeks against his bare skin.
He softly hums the tune of thinking outloud rubbing her back comfortingly.
You wake up, not feeling shawn's arms around you, and you roll over to see him softly humming to your daughter sweetly and smiling at you.
"Bad dream?" You whisper, your heart melting at the sight of your daughter in shawn's arms.
"You know it," he stops humming, "go to sleep, it's really late, I think she finally knocked out."
You sleepily roll over to be next to them. You kiss shawn's cheek, and lay tiredly on his shoulder whispering, "goodnight."
