Y/n's POV:

With blurry vision, I open my eyes to read the glowing digital clock that reveals the nearby objects in the room with a neon green light.

2:45am

Wiping my face with my hands, and releasing a tired sigh, i roll over away from the night stand, wanting to wrap my arms around my husband.

I come to find, after outstretching my arm to where he usually sleeps, that Shawn's not there.

Struck with confusion, sleep quickly disappears from my mind and I prop myself on my elbows to make sure I'm right about my observation.

The door was cracked open and the house was dead quiet, causing concern to take over any emotion of content.

"Shawn?" I croak out, half hoping that he was just in the bathroom, despite the fact that the light wasn't on in there.

Slowly getting up, I turn on my lamp double checking my surroundings before embarking on my mission to find him, again not seeing any evidence of him being in the room.

Leaving my bedroom, I make my way down the upstairs hallway and down the stares, peering into every room as i pass them.

Then it hits me...

His office.

With a mental face palm, I quickly, but quietly make my way down the stairs onto the main floor, flicking lights on as I go, and gently open the basement door, to find all the lights are brightly on, as they typically are when he's working.

I sigh with relief hearing him strum a couple chords on the guitar, and with a smug smile I go down the stairs and peer around the corner to see shawn so very focused on his work.

"You're on break you know, you don't have to wear yourself out," my raspy voice breaks him from his concentration, and I just stand there leaning against the wall returning his gaze.

"I didn't mean to wake you,it's just so peaceful to write when I'm at home and there's nothing rushing me, it's just so natural," His voice is heavy with guilt but I just giggle, heading over to his desk.

"I just wanted to make sure everything was okay," leaning down, I kiss the top of his head to reassure that he hasn't done anything wrong and flash him a tired smile, "Just remember that you need sleep hun."

Nodding his head he stares down at his guitar, and as I turn to leave I hear him mumble something that was so quiet, if it weren't for the fact it was the dead of night I wouldn't have heard him.

"Are you happy?"

Stopping in my tracks, not facing him, I scrunch my eyebrows together and glance back, watching shawn's heavy posture and weighted eyes.

And then he speaks again.

"Am I balancing everything okay? You know, seeing you and work?"

Fighting the urge to run over and comfort him, my muscles are no longer tense but loose with confusion.

"Of course I'm happy, and I believe that you're doing an amazing job with doing everything you need to, and I can't think of a time in my life where I was happier than this."

As he continues to look at the floor, I see a soft smile develop on his lips, and it makes me crack one too.

"I needed that," he whispers, now playing with the nobs on his instrument, "i don't want to keep you up, have a good sleep."

Nodding I head towards the stairs, but not before calling down to him.

"And shawn? I'll tell you those words until you believe them, until you no longer have to ask."
