Y/n's POV:
"She's beautiful," awing over Shawn and I's daughter asleep in her crib, compliment after compliment keeps spewing from his lips.
"I know," I hug him from behind, breathing in the scent that smells of his cologne, and stare at our babygirl from over his shoulder, with me propped on my tippy toes, "and she's all ours."
"That's the best part," He whispers, lulling his head to the side, allowing me to peck a few kisses lightly on his neck.
"but," Shawn hesitates, looking longingly at his daughter with a hint of sadness, "do you think she'll hate me when she's older because I'm gone all the time?"
I sigh, knowing he's been stressing over his future absence in his daughters life for months now, never wanting to leave her. She was only born a couple months ago and his tour date is slowly creeping on the two of us.
"Never, baby you're her dad, and I know you won't give her any reasons to hate you." I smile into his neck, just at the mere thought of Shawn finally being able to be a dad to his daughter. Throughout the whole pregnancy he would just sit with me and talk to the bulge of my stomach as if she was already born.
"I'll be missing her grow up months at a time, that's a valid reason to be mad at someone, a valid reason to be mad at myself," he leans forwards so his forearms are supporting his weight against the crib, forcing me to let go because my height stopped short.
"No, you'll be there, in heart, and when you are home you'll have all the time you need to make a bond," I slowly make my way next to him, running my hand soothingly up his forearm to his bicep, giving it a tight grip for reassurance.
"You'll need help with raising her and I won't be here," The stress he holds on this topic slowly tenses his muscles and my comforting isn't doing that any justice.
"I have Ian and Brian, and my parents as well as yours to come and help me. You realize I have people I can call right? Now stop stressing over this okay? You're fine."
Shawn closes his eyes thoughtfully and reopens them and turns his head so his deep browns make eye contact with my concerned filled ones.
"you're right, it's just, I never want my job getting in the way of time with you guys but I don't see any other way it can be."
Deciding that if I don't change the subject, this will keep going all night, I kiss him delicately, yet sweetly on the lips and rest our foreheads together with the both of us smiling out of pride of the beautiful little girl we made.
"I love you Shawn," I whisper, adding a laugh at the end, truly showing how happy I am, "I always will."
And in that small, but beautiful moment, I see the man I adore and look up to finally relax, and finally have the facial expression of somebody that knows everything will be okay.
_____________________________________________________________________________________QUESTION!!!! okay so I'm not loving dreamscape, as most of you know, so I'm thinking instead of giving up on it I'll just restart it with a little bit better explanations for things and just more character development. Anyways, comment what you think
