Two fools in love

I can't lose her!

"JESSICA!" He parks the car, grabs the kids and runs to the ambulance.

"What's going on?!" He asks worried.
"Sir you're gonna need to step back."
"Get your damn hands off me!  That's my wife!" He pushes the man off of him.

He walks closer to the paramedics working on Jessica and says, "Is she okay?  What's going on?  I'm Daniel Huston, Jessica's Husband."
"Mr. Huston, your wife was found unconscious.  We're putting her on an IV, do you know anything that might have caused this?  Also do you know if there's a chance of pregnancy?"
"What no!  She's not pregnant, she just gave birth six weeks ago.  She hasn't been eating much and she went on a jog with an empty stomach.. Dammit!  How could I let her do this to herself?  How could I have been so stupid?!"
"She's gonna be okay, Mr. Huston.  Just please give us some space."
"I wanna be here when she wakes up!"
"Thats fine, but we need space."

Danny stands close by as they give Jessica her IV and check her vitals.

How could I have let this happen? 
She wasn't eating at all and I didn't do anything to stop it.
Yeah I told her to eat but.. I should've done more.
I can't lose her.  I can't!
We have a little girl and a new baby boy.. This shouldn't be happening.

"Daddy, what's wrong with mommy?" Gabriella asks while looking at him with her big wide eyes.
"She's sick baby." He moves a curl from her face.
"Why?" She lifts her little hands, cocks her head and shrugs her shoulders.
"I don't know, baby... But mommy will be okay.. Alright?.... She's gonna be fine." He hugs her and lays his head on hers as he cries.

"Don't cry daddy!" She wipes his tears.
Danny can't help but let out a small teary chuckle as he looks at Gabriella.
It was like looking at Jessica.  She looked so much like her.

Danny kisses her cheek and holds her tight.

He calls George to tell him what's going on then asks if he can come and pick the kids up.

"Mr. Huston?"
"Yes?" He quickly stands up from the curb.
"She's starting to wake up if you want to come see her."
"Yes!  Thank you!"
"She's still very weak and we'll have to take her to the hospital to run more tests but she's stable right now."
"Alright, thank you so much."

He sees her thin, lifeless little body laid out on the stretcher and tears fill his eyes.
Jessica was drugged and was barely able to open her eyes.

Danny held her hand in his and his other hand on top of hers.
Tears came running down his face as he looked at her.

"I.. I'm sorry.. Danny.." She struggles to say in a weak voice.
"Don't be sorry, babydoll. Just relax those beautiful eyes... Everything's gonna be okay." He caresses her forehead with his thumb then kisses her head.
"Where are my babies?"
"They're with George, don't worry about anything baby.. I'm here with you and I'm not leaving your side."

She rests her eyes and Danny just stares at her, taking in every single inch of her beautiful face.
"I love you, my beautiful beautiful babydoll." He kisses her hand and a tear rolls down her face.

Later at the hospital the doctor examines Jessica.

He asks her questions on her diet then says, "Jessica, with your test results and what your diet consists of it sounds like you have an eating disorder.  Now I know you're nursing so I don't want to put you on any medication that could be harmful towards your baby, BUT.  Jessica.. You HAVE to start eating right, if not then I'll have no choice than to put you on medicine.  And I'll be honest with you Jessica.. Next time, you might not be as lucky.. So please please try and eat right.. Just think of your kids.  They're so young and they need a mother.."
A tear falls down her face, "I know... Ah God I'm so stupid!"
"You're not stupid Jessica, you're just a new mom.. It's completely normal.  Besides you're in the public eye so it's even more stressful.  Just get some rest.  We're gonna keep you here over night just to see how you're doing and you should be able to go home tomorrow."
Jessica nods her head and puckers her lips trying to hold back her tears.
"Thanks you, doctor." Danny says.

"Danny, how could I have been so weak and let myself listen to what they're saying about me?  I could've killed myself.  What if no one would have seen me?  What if I passed out in the middle of the road and got hit.. I mean I-"
"Jessica stop with the what if's!  Yes this has happened but it's something that we'll learn from and get passed.  You do so much.. You worked during both pregnancies, you went thru hell bringing them into this world and don't complain at all.
You care for those babies so much.. The way you love them makes me love you even more.  So we'll get through this together.. I'll take care of you, babydoll.  Just relax.. I'm not leaving your side." He holds her hand and looks deep into her eyes.
"I love you, Danny."
"I love you too, Ms. Lange."

Danny's phone rings,

"Hello?"

"How's she doing?" George asks.

"She's okay, she's resting right now."

"Do they know what happened?"

"She was going over board on the excising and barely eating so it just caught up to her.  They diagnosed her with an eating disorder."

"Eating disorder?  Ah man!  I can't believe that.  Tell my sister that I love her and not to worry about the kids, I've got it."

"Thank you so much, George.  I'll tell her when she wakes up."

"No problem.  You call me if anything changes, AT ALL!"

"I will."

Danny wouldn't take his eyes off of Jessica as she slept.
He even grabbed his phone to snap a few pictures of her.

Jessica heard his phone go off and woke up, "What are you doing?"
Danny chuckles and says, "I'm sorry but I couldn't help it.. You looked so cute!"
Jessica smiles, closes her eyes and nods.
"Have you called to check on my babies?"
"Yes, George said not to worry about anything, he's got it and that he loves you very very much."
"Awe.. He's such a good guy.  Danny Isaiah needs me!  He can't sleep through the night without getting up to nurse.  He can't even sleep without me touching him, Danny I have to go home!" She tries to stand up but is too light headed that she falls back.
"Baby, stay.  Isaiah's going to be fine.  There's plenty of breast milk in the fridge."
"But he doesn't like that!  He only drinks it from me!  Danny my baby needs his Num Nums!" She pouts.
"Aw baby." He sits on the bed next to her and puts his arm around her.
"He's gonna be fine.  If George has any trouble then I'm sure he'll call.  You just need to get some rest, okay?"
"But.. I miss my babies, Danny."
"I know you do princess, but it's just till the morning.  Then you won't have to leave there side again."
"Alright." She frowns.
He kisses her cheek then goes to sit on the chair next to the bed.
"No!  Can you stay here and hold me?" She looks at him with big eyes while pulling him back.
"Of course, babydoll.  It'll be how we cuddled before we had kids!" He says as they both laugh since now they have kids all over them as they sleep.
