It's a... (part 1)

**FRIDAY!! 17 WEEKS!!**
Jessica gets a phone call from her doctors office saying,

"Hello, Ms. Huston?"

"Yes , this is she?"

"Oh hi, I was calling to let you know that your doctor has been called out of town for next week during your gender reveal scan, and he was wonder if you and your husband wanted to come in this afternoon to go ahead and do your gender scan now, since it's only a week before, we will more than likely be able to see."

"Oh my gosh, yes! We'd love to!"

"Okay, then go ahead and come by at noon."

"Alright, we'll be there! Thank you so so much! Buh-bye!"

She hangs up, "Oh my gosh, we're gonna find out what we're having today!" She says to herself.
She drops her phone and runs to Danny, who's still sleeping.
She straddles him and bounces up and down, trying to wake him up.
"Danny! Wake up! Wake up Danny!!"
He grabs her hips and opens his eyes,
"I'm up, I'm up! What's wrong Babydoll?"
"Nothing! Everything's perfect! Danny that was the doctors office, they told me that our Doctor will be out of town next week so we can go in today for our scan and possibly see what the baby is!!!!"
"No way! Are you serious?!"
"Yes! So get your ass out of bed and get ready!" She says moving off of him.
He slaps her ass, as she gets off of him.

"Danny I'm so excited I can't even eat!"
"Wow, you can't eat? You really are excited!"
"Haha, you ass!" She says giving him a little hit on the arm.
He laughs,
"Why do you keep calling me that?" He asks her.
"Haha, I don't know, but I kinda like it!"
"Me too... You sound sexy! Then again everything you say comes out sounding sexy."
"Not everything!" She laughs.
"Yeah, prove it. Says something!"
"You mean like, Grandmas chicken salad!" She says making them both laugh at her "Friends" reference.
"Okay, Joey Tribbiani!" Danny says while laughing.
"Haha let's get out of here!" She says tossing him the keys to the car.

While driving Jessica says,
"Hey you know what... Let's not find out the sex of the baby just yet."
"What? Why not?" He asks.
"We should go have the ultrasound and have doctor write it down, then we could take it to Home Depot, pick out blue and pink paint that we like, give the guy the envelope with the gender written inside.. He'll give us the paint and we open it at home the baby's room! Do you understand? Did I make any sense at all?"
"Yes, I understand and I think that would be great! Finding out just the two of us together would be so sweet and special." He says.
"YAY! Then let's do it!"

"Ms. Huston, the doctor will see you now."
The nurse calls her back.
Jessica gets up, grabs Danny's hand and walks to the back with him.

She sits on the bed waiting for the doctor and Danny says,
"Babydoll, no matter what our little baby is.. I will love he or she no matter what, and I know you will too! I'm just so excited!"
"Me too Danny!"

The doctor came in and Jessica explains their plan, he agrees not to tell them.
Jessica lays back and lifts her sundress up, he puts the cold gel on her belly and then the doppler.
They hear their baby's heartbeat, a smile from ear to ear.
Danny holds Jessica's hand while they watch the screen.
"So here is your baby's head, the spine and there's it's little feet." He says pointing to the screen.
"Aw look at the little feet!" Jessica says in a cute little voice.
"Alright, I know the gender." The doctor says.
"You do?!" They both say excitedly.
"Yes." He says writing it down and putting it in the envelope, then handing it to them.
"Here's some pictures of your baby, just don't look at them until you know the gender, because it says it on there."
"Okay thank you so much!"
"No problem, everything else looks good! You've gained a total of about 5 pounds which is completely normal due to all of the morning sickness in the first trimester. So other then that, that's it... Momma and baby are both doing great!"
"Good! Thank you again doctor." Danny says shaking his hand.

They go to Home Depot, pick out two colors and explain to the paint guy.
They walk around while the guy gets the paint ready,
When they come back the worker gives Danny a small thing of paint.
"Oh my gosh there it is!" Jessica says excitingly.
"Let's go home, baby!" Danny says, anxious to find out what the baby is.

They get home and immediately run to the baby's room.
They sit crisscross in front of each other with the paint in between them,
"Are you ready Danny asks?"
"Oh my gosh, yeah hold on." Jessica says fanning herself,
"I haven't even seen it and I'm already crying!" She says with a giggle and watery eyes.
"We'll open it whenever you're ready babydoll.." Danny says.
"Okay.. I'm ready." She leans in to kiss Danny before he opens it.
Both smiling while looking down at the paint, their hearts racing from the anticipation.

Then finally, Danny opens it reveling in the color...
"AHHHH!!" Jessica lets out a loud scream.
Danny's mouth drops, he puts his hand over it then he and Jessica reach over to each other to hug and kiss.

They pour the paint out and paint the first wall together.
