Two fools in love

I'm pregnant

Saturday afternoon...

George came over to watch the kids while Danny and Jessica went out to lunch with her parents.
"So how are you with mom and dad?"
"Okay.  I mean as good as you would expect."
"Are you planning on telling them that you're pregnant?"
"Well eventually, but not yet.. I don't know, we'll see."
"Alright, well you two go ahead, I'm good." He smiles.
"Thanks George, call us if you need anything."

Jessica looks out the window on the way to the restaurant and thinks about one of her earliest childhood memories.

Jessica at four years old...

"Jessica Phyllis Lange, stop running in the house!"
"You can't catch me, mommy!  I a fast girl!"
"Jessie, you need to stay still.  Mommy has to take care of the new baby and I can't be running after you like this."
"I don't like the new baby!  He smells!"
"Jessica, he does not!"
"Yes he does!... He smells like shit." Jessica said in a low voice.
"Jessica!  We do not use that kind of language!"
"Well he does!"
"You just wait till your father gets home, little girl!"
"NOOO!" Jessica screamed and ran all over the house.
She knocked over one of their lamps and glass went everywhere.
"Jessica!" Her mom yells as Jessica yells, "I didn't do it!  I didn't do it!"
"Yeah, well who did?"
"The dog did it!"
"Jessica, our dog died!"
"But mommy, I didn't do it!" She hides behind a couch in the corner.

Jane and Ann get home from school and head straight up to their rooms.
Jessica ran fast after them and her mom said, "No ma'am!  You stay down here with me!"
"But I wanna go upstairs!" She whines.
"Well you have to stay down here with me."
"Why?!"
"Because I said so!"
"But I don't like you!" Jessica throws herself on the ground.
"Well too bad."

Jessica screamed and cried for hours until she wore herself out and fell asleep on the floor.

Awhile later, Jessica's mom was in the kitchen and George was laying in his bouncer in the living room.
Jessica looked around to see if anyone was looking, before she reached in and grabbed a hold of his ear.
She pinched her nails so hard into his skin that she made him bleed.
George let out this piercing scream and Jessica didn't know where to go.
Her eyes widened and she looked around franticly not knowing where to go.
Her mom ran in and saw George screaming with a bloody ear.  She heard little feet running away so she turned to the side and saw Jessica's little butt running away.
"Jessica Phyllis Lange, when your father gets home, you are going to get it little girl!"

When Jessica's dad came home, Dorothy told him everything that happened.
Jessica was sitting on the floor playing with her toys by herself when Albert grabbed her by the arm and yanked her upstairs.
"Ah!  Daddy NO!" She screams.

He took her up to her room and gave her a spanking and the more she talked back the more he would hit her.
"Daddy please don't hit me!" Jessica sobbed.
"You were a bad girl today!  This is what you deserve!"

Jessica sat in her room and cried and cried.
Her parents let her stay in there without even giving her dinner.
She looked at her dads handprint on her leg and gently touched it.
She gasped and yanked her hand back when she felt the burning feeling on her skin.
"I didn't do anything!  I a good girl!" She said to herself  as she cried.

"Jess?  Jess?!  Jessica!" Danny says bringing her out of her trance.
"Huh?!  Oh, I'm sorry!  I just zoned out.."
"We're here."
"Oh!" She says looking around still a little out of it.
"Are you okay?  What were you thinking about?"
"... Just about how things were when I was younger.  You know.. I get angry when Gabriella doesn't listen to me.. and I've spanked her before, but.. I can't imagine.. doing what they did to me, to her.  I love her so much and I would never Ever want to hurt her!" She says in a shaky voice.
"How could they want to hurt me so bad?" She looks at Danny with teary eyes.
"I don't know how anyone could  do that.  The love you have for your child is unconditional and to even think about giving her more than just a little spank on the butt makes me sick."
"And you know what?  Danny.. Little Gabriella is just like me."
"I told you!"
"I was a terror!" She laughs.
"Awe but you were beautiful!" Danny says in a cute voice as he cups her face in his hands and squeezes her cheeks.
Jessica laughs and moves his arm away.
"Thanks.. Oh and I was just thinking.." She bites her bottom lip and looks up at him with big eyes.
"What?" He smiles.
"Remember when Gabriella pinched Isaiah's ear until it bleed?"
"Yes." He sighs.
"Well I did the same thing to George when he was a baby!"
"Jessica!  You see where your daughter gets these things from!"
"I'm sorry!" She laughs.
"Well it's okay, because she's gonna turn out to be such an amazing woman like her momma, one day." He runs his hand  through her hair and smiles lovingly into her eyes.
She smiles then looks out the window and says, "We better get out."

They talk for a while and Jessica says, "You know, I'll never understand why y'all treated me the way y'all did.. But in order for me to go on with my life.. I need to forgive you both.  Now, I'll never forget.. But I will forgive you." She looks them in the eyes. 
"Really?!  Oh Jessica.. Thank you!" Her mom stands up and hugs her.
"Jessica, we know that this was a hard decision for you to make, but thank you so much!  We love you!" Her dad tells her.
Jessica didn't say anything back, she just smiled.

"And as far as seeing the kids, I need to be able to trust that you won't just come into their lives, let them become attached to you, and just leave."
"We won't Jessica!  Please believe us that we will not do that!  Just seeing pictures, we have so much love for those babies already.  It would mean the world to us if we got to finally meet them."
"Alright.  Just give me some time to explain to them who you are.  I don't want to just throw you guys at them."
"That's fine!" Albert says.
"And I guess before we go, there's one more thing I can tell you two.. If I don't then Gabriella might." She chuckles and looks at Danny.
"I'm pregnant." She looks back at them.
Albert's jaw drops and his eyes widen.
"Ah!  Jessica, are you serious?!  Oh I'm so happy!" Dorothy jumps up.
She hugs her tight then holds her hands and looks deep into her eyes while she says, "Jessica, I'm gonna be here for you for this one, I promise you, baby!"
Jessica cracks a small smile and nods.
She suddenly feels so emotional that she starts crying.
"Aw, don't cry!" She hugs her and rubs her back.
"I'm just overwhelmed.  There's so much going on and it's just getting to me."
"Well you just relax.  Don't you stress about one thing!"
"That's what I keep saying, but my Jessie worries about everything." Danny says as they sit back down.
"That's just how I am, I can't help it." She wipes her eyes.
Danny wraps his arm around her and kisses her cheek.
She smiles and Dorothy says, "You two are so amazing!  Danny, you are such a wonderful man."
"Yes he is." Jessica looks up and smiles at Danny.
