Everyday, you followed practically the same routine. You took the train to school in the morning (maybe cramming for a test on the way), attended your classes, and spent time at practice with the Karasuno boys' volleyball team after school. You'd been a manager of their team since you'd arrived at Karasuno and had stumbled upon one of their practices on accident. After spending time with the boys at practice, you would ride home on the train by yourself.

Today had been just another one of your average days, and you found yourself waiting at the train station for the one that you always rode home. When it arrived, you promptly boarded it and looked for a place to sit. You weaved in between the crowd, heading straight for an open seat.

Sighing, you plopped down into the seat and rested your heavy bag in your lap. As you turned to your left, you flinched upon noticing that someone was sitting there, and shuddered when you noticed his intense stare. You were surprised you hadn't noticed the boy sitting there, with his snowy white hair and the fact that he sat so uncomfortably, like a giant sitting in a child's chair.

You quickly turned away from him, feeling your cheeks flush with embarrassment. What was up with that stare of his? Curiosity made you glance over at him and examine his attire—a school uniform.

"Excuse me, what school are you from?" you asked softly as you looked up at him.

"Datekou," he responded simply, the warmth of his voice taking the edge off that intense gaze of his, "And you're from Karasuno, right? I've seen a lot of people wearing that school's uniform."

You nodded and gave him a small smile. "Datekou is quite a ways away from here, isn't it?" you wondered.

"It is, but my family and I moved. My parents still wanted me to go to Datekou, so I make this commute everyday," he explained with a small sigh. He looked away for a moment, and there was silence as you each watched the world pass by through the train window.

"That's funny... I've never seen you on this train before," you said and looked down at your hands, which clasped one another tightly as you held onto yours bag.

"What makes you think you would notice me?" he inquired, a small smile playing on his lips.

"Well, you're really tall. Do you play a sport?"

"I play volleyball."

"Hey, what do you know? I help manage the boys' volleyball team at Karasuno!"

"Really?"

The two of you talked for quite a while about volleyball and about your schools before the train crept to a stop at your station.

"Well, I've gotta go. It was nice talking to you!" you said and smiled brightly as you stood up.

After you'd left, and the train had departed for its next station, you realized that you still didn't know his name. He seemed like a kind-hearted guy, even though he was pretty intimidating. Hopefully, you'd see him again.

When you got on the train the next morning, you searched for the snowy hair and the giant who accompanied it, but you couldn't find him. Of course he's not going to be on this train. He has a longer way to travel than I do, so he probably has to get an earlier train, you thought as you sat down by yourself.

You had to admit that it felt a bit lonely without him, even though you'd just met him yesterday. You were looking forward to seeing him again after school, but you weren't quite sure why. You got a rush of nervous excitement every time you thoughts about him. He had been pretty cute, after all.
